cycleworld test says it came in at 137 thru the 1/4mi bone stock-so for the guy who would just lower and put a sticky tire on the back and go racing, now he has to spend some money for some black box shenanigans, or deal with hittin the limiter at 1000ft. unless its like the old skool gsxr1100's where there was that lil wire on the ignition u could snip to unleash its full power. but i doubt it. |

That HP2 Sport is a hell of a bike considering that it runs on an aircooled twin AND funky shocks AND shaft drive. But if they were just to eliminate the shaft drive, I can deal with the funky shocks since that I've been riding these Telever/Paralever suspension for several years and get used to the vague feedbacks already. However, knowing BMW, they'd probably did this model as a statement - See what our engineers can do with a bike that is not a true sport bike design. |

prolly an Rc51 then a Goldwing w/ an aribag just to tell people it has an airbag

I know it's only been a month since the wreck, but after much deliberation, there probably wont be another bike. :sorry:

life without a bike isnt living, its merely existing with no purpose. I could NOT live without a motorcycle, I just couldnt do it. I'd literally lose my mind and die.

korea's got you all fucked up lol ya typo havin mofo rider- seriously tho, track days, trail riding-way less chances of some outside source(cager, gravel, oil in the road, deer) of taking you out, and you still get your bike fix. ive been at the point were you're at, and the best advice i can say is go thru with it and give it up. wait (if you can) 6months to a year and rent or demo a bike and see if you really do miss it. chances are, after the first 5 rusty minutes, you will notice that you miss it way more than you were aware of. then, the next day, after all the initial excitement has worn off, but the feeling remains, you can make a gd decision on whether you truly feel its best to give it up. maybe it is, maybe it isnt |

you say that cuz you're a rider. i got friends that are hardcore rock climbers, to them, really living is hangin off the side off a mountain. know what i mean? me personally, im not a rider. i love it, and the only days i dont ride even alil are the days i dont bother coming out the house lol-but im a racer. thats when I feel im really living, at the track. i'd sell my streetbike if i for some reason could only have one bike. and anyway, i ended with him being able to make the best decision. guessing he's a husband, a father, uncle, etc. maybe he's decided that he not ok with what the rest of his family would be put thru, and what he would be missing out on(kids growin up, grand kids, etc) if on the unlikely chance that something fatal happened. so he's sacrificing his own enjoyment for them. thats pretty fuckin noble. i'll never stop racing, aslong as i can afford it, but i'll probably scale back my street riding for a few years (2-4) once im married and the wife gets knocked up. i'd hate for my kid to grow up without atleast a memory of me because some dumb bitch took me out as she was textin her bff ya know? :2cents: but back to the topic question- 2002 busa :dthumb: |

Hey guys, it's not that I dont want to ride anymore or afraid to. I just have other priorities in my life. MY kids are getting older and want to spend more time with me. I feel selfish having $10K tied up in a bike that only I get to use. I'm taking that money from the insurance company and I am spending it on something for the entire family. Keeping a small amount to buy more hunting rifles and a bass guitar. The rest... Possibly a hot tube and finishing the wet bar in my basement. I'll eventually be back on 2 but probably just on dirt to ride with my son.

Gixxer 750 most likely...........I've always liked the 04/05 the best, but I'm getting sick of used bikes so I'll probably just get a new one.
Actually I wish Kawi would make a new 750, but I doubt it'll ever happen. |

This one is mine. There are many like it, but this one is mine. And I guess I will have no excuse not to go to the track in 2009.

Street legal? I could see doing that if you lived only a few miles from Palomar.......If not, the ride TO Palomar would suck on a 125.

And I also don't need to ride it to know that: Aprilia RS125: 28hp, 260lb Honda RS125: 40hp, 160lb That's a no-brainer. My buddy just picked up one of the Hondas with a ton of spares, including cylinder heads and a bottom end, for 3k. I can't wait to ride it :D |
Quote:
The track only version of the Aprillia is a darned sight lighter and makes better horsepower ;) |
I still recall even the track-only aprilias needing a decent amount of work, both engine and weightsavings, to be competitive with the hondas and yamis, no?
And trying to get that street version ape competitive, well, you can just forget about it. |

What the hell. 2-strokes tuning is all black magic anyway. |
Black magic... seriously...
it's like you need to pull the piston, it needs to be a medium mocha with a hint of caramel color, cloverleaf shaped burn marks, two shiny spots at 10 and 2, etc.... and what's funny is that what I just described is true  |

I have the bike I want....the M109 is just awesome....but....I would love to have a big, nasty, naked streetfighter....no reason to have it other than hooligan-ism...but...I want it anyway...not as a replacement...but as an addition to the garage.
The new Ducati would be PERFECT.... *drool* |

If I get a chance to get a new bike anytime soon it will be the Street Triple
But that chance is slim, so I am hoping there will be more options when that time rolls around. |
