Hope you find good weather somewhere...it is still raining here. :tt:

NONE_too_SOFT 05-24-2008 10:58 AM

clear skies here. time for a little ride.

Mrs. Colleen 05-24-2008 11:00 AM

Even if it was clear and sunny here I don't think I would ride this weekend. I live in a tourist area so the town will fill up a bit and I don't trust most peoples ability to drive...especially when they are lost. :td:

NONE_too_SOFT 05-24-2008 11:10 AM

HAHAHA! are you telling me while you have all the time to ride in the winter, while we are stuck in the cold, it is now 70* and gorgeous here and YOU CANT RIDE BECAUSE OF THE SEASON!?!

http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/5634/ironyol0.jpg

Mrs. Colleen 05-24-2008 11:22 AM

NO! Because it is Memorial Day weekend! People visit here for the three day weekend so I stay off the streets on my bike.

If it is sunny on Tuesday I will probably ride to work...after all the tourist go home!

marko138 05-24-2008 03:45 PM

motherfuck...it is beautiful outside. 70's all weekend and gorgeous. Spent afternoon down at the riverfront for Arts Fest. Now I'm at work...but at least I rode here.

Cutty72 05-24-2008 08:57 PM

windy shitty ass day...

fatburg 05-24-2008 10:35 PM

pretty nice here, of course i spent it at Jiggle Jam and digging a 16" BY 48" hole!!! ya, that sucked

I don't want to see my bike for awhile after the flat straight road miles I logged this weekend. It was good to get out for two solid days of riding. Drewpy and OSP were feeling pretty terrible about riding when they left TN. I don't know how those two managed 5000 miles.

NONE_too_SOFT 05-27-2008 05:39 PM

ugh, had to retake my M endorsement test today, what a drag. some guy's tail light wasnt working, so we all pitched together and got that fixxed, i didnt stick around to see if he passed.

I got bitched at because of my flushmounts, "they arent visable" . which is true, but im really not worried about the people in front of me seeing that im turning, im just worried that they see me period... big yellow bike, a bit harder to miss than most.

anyways passed w/ 2 points ( i dont even know where they came from, quick stop i think) so no problems there, but i had to get a new license picture, and damn i didnt think it could get any worse than my last one. i dont know how i wear and XL helmet and my head still looks so small.

Mr Lefty 05-27-2008 05:45 PM

what's with the MC novice? is there a Pro?

NONE_too_SOFT 05-27-2008 05:49 PM

i have to wear a helmet for a year from my Endorsement day. I remember looking it up the last time i got it and thats all the information i could find on it.

kind of fucking stupid i had to get another license just for that M considering my old license already had the same thing. Red tape FTW.

Mr Lefty 05-27-2008 05:55 PM

humm... intresting...

Mrs. Colleen 05-27-2008 08:37 PM

You get your license (the card) same day?

Wait...you have to carry two licenses?

NONE_too_SOFT 05-27-2008 08:47 PM

no, that is my drivers/motorcycle license.

ya, took the test (took about 15 mins) rode down to the license place, and got my pic taken.

That would happen much more suddenly. It was that that a couple people had spun bearings. Ouch.

Original. I lended a guy a spacer at the track and I think I put the left side's spacer on the right side (I had extra ones from my ebay specials). They appear to be different. I tightened the axle down and it pressed the spacer through the inner bearing ring jones and cracked it. It was proly a combo of me using the wrong spacer and over-tightening my axle nut, I don't know. I'm gonna look up the torque requirements on that bitch. Lesson learned.

In case anyone was wondering, it is $7.50 for a 36mm socket. And I bet I never use it again. Had to get it to get my front sprocket off. By the way, what kind of fucktard puts an aluminum rear sprocket on a modded R1? The guy certainly wasn't a pro racer to notice the difference.

You should be able to get that out pretty easily with a bearing puller as long as the inner race doesn't disintegrate when you try to grab it, maybe add a little heat too.

Hell no, I don't use torque wrenches, I do now though.

I don't have a bearing puller or heat. I'm bringing it to the dealer. It might be covered under warranty, too. I just won't tell them I over-torqued the wrong spacer and see if they'll bite. That's the benefit of bringing the wheel in lose. They can't tell I used the wrong spacer. If not, it's not that expensive to replce. Like $30.

Your torque wrench is your best friend. A little tip: to keep it accurate always turn it back to 0 ftlb before you put it away and never use it to loosen anything.

Yeah bringing the wheel in loose will also not let them know you've been tracking the shit out of the thing

It's not my track wheel, it's my street wheel. We use torque wrenches a lot here at work. We have to cycle 'em at the highest setting 5 times before we use 'em and put 'em away at the lowest setting. I'm just gonna pick up a 30 dollar job at Autozone.

As long as you treat them well a cheap torque wrench is great.

I've seen snapons WAY out of calibration, and a well cared for cheapo from harbor-freight be spot-on.

I think I may have, yeah. I went up there one day a couple weeks before I left for Korea. I met up with Chappy and fnflman and we hit some canyyons and ended the day riding Magic Mountain in Palm Springs. It was like somebody dropped a track on the side of a mountain. Then I rode back to Vegas. 12 hours and 678 miles later, I was home. Awesome fucking day! Not sure if I buzzed 243, but it sounds real familiar.
