After reading about a fellow triple enthuiast almost hitting an idiot that pulled out in front of him, I'm upgrading the front brakes. '73 was the first year for front disk brakes and although they're better than double shoe drums, they still suck.

I just scored a front disk brake set up off ebay from a '97 ex500. Just a simple bracket and it'll bolt right up.

Front caliper for $10 and the master cylinder for $26 :rockwoot:

Go power and whoa power. Glad you're keeping it Kawi. What about ss brake lines and HH pads?

when you put the brakes on, take alot of pics. Why? Because i really want an old honda, but hated the drum brakes... if i could see how to fit disc brakes to wire wheels, i'll be in buisness!

Staring in '72 ( on the H1 500 {option} & standard on the H2 750) you could get disk brakes. So it's no problem having spokes and disk brakes ( on the front).

i guess i havent cruised the old Kawis enough then. Most went to those UGLY 2 tone cast looking things when they moved to disc brakes.

What a great thread. Looks like your enjoying this project and as a reader I appreciate the amount of documentation that you have put into it.

I am looking forward to watching the build up, and I suppose the next 2 as well.

This makes me want to take my bike and car apart for no other reason then having something fun to to.:rockwoot:
