New Addition to the Driveway

Well, The Taurus took another shit on me...and I was getting tired of dealing with stupid shit on this car, and having already Re built the transmission once already last year...I decided to step up to a better suited application to fit my needs...:dribble:

It's an 05' with 40,000 on the Clock, Extended Cab Stepside Bed 4X4...And She Purrs like a kitten.

Oh, Forgot to mention...the Taurus had Transmission Issues again...which after doing research was a known issue for those cars built in that year/body style.

But I'm happy with the purchase...I always wanted something to haul the bike around if need be...Wish I had this thing when i went to Suches! :)

BobTheBiker 09-16-2009 01:05 PM

theres room behind the driver, just take the wheels off, theres PLENTY of space.......

t-homo 09-16-2009 01:56 PM

congrats man. That is a good lookin truck.

101lifts2 09-16-2009 03:14 PM

How much was it?

I have an 06 2WD STX with a 5speed manual, but power everything.

Cutty72 09-16-2009 04:48 PM

Nice ride, personally I hate the step sides though. Waste of box space.

Does it have the 5.4 in it?

Sixxxxer 09-16-2009 05:15 PM

4.6L the 5.4 is even more of a gas hog...and the 4.6 has been around in these trucks forever...Stout motor IMHO...And I personally like the stepside over the straight bad...adds more character to the truck...I'm not worried about 2 extra inches of bed space...Its plenty big.

it was listed at 16,800...Out the Door I believe was 18000 and change...It was at a Honda dealer and they wanted it off there lot since it was a Ford.

Nice...I paid 13,995 for mine with 8500 miles on it.....but no 4wd and no V-8 or automatic.

4.6 is ok if all you do is drive and
maybe put a bike in the box. Its underpowered when you start pulling trailers. And I consistantly got 15 with my 5.4 which was good enough for how I drove it.

tached1000rr 09-17-2009 01:03 PM

congrats mang

Ford Trucks SHIT on Ford Cars...I dunno what it is...But I always knew people with quality Ford Trucks but anyone (myself included) with a Ford Car had issues...Lol Oh well...I got a killer warranty so I'm ok for the next few years!!

And I dont plan on doing much Towing with this Rig...Its strictly a Truck to put a bike or two in occasionally and pick up shit for the house from home depot/furniture stores/etc etc and not have to worry about delivery.

And I always liked Trucks :)

azoomm 09-18-2009 10:03 AM

Congrats on the truck!!

Particle Man 09-18-2009 09:52 PM

Not anymore. Ford actually makes well built cars nowadays.

Ford trucks were always better than anyone else for actual truck use.

Sixxxxer 09-19-2009 04:56 PM

My 96 Taurus was Balls...I'm not talking about New Cars.

But Either way I'm happy with it!
