Are aftermarket pipes available immediately as well?
|
It kinda looks like someone forgot to put all the bodywork on
|
I can't get over that hacked tail.
|
:whatwhat:
|
I was good until the pipe but that can be changed

Nice but I'll pass.

Looks? Who cares about looks. Instead, look at the performance. I just got the December issue of Cycle World. It was the dominant bike in their Open-Class shootout, and won the Best Superbike honors.
I know you're all asking if No Worries would buy one. No, it's great for racing, but not that good for the street. It has the same problems that all the latest liter bikes have: A super-tall first gear. Here's what Cycle World says "Net result was that we needed to maintain 9,000 rpm throughout the launch, while aiming for full clutch engagement by 60 mph." My old CBR made 50 lbs/ft of torque at 2,000. The RSV4 makes 50 pounds at 5,000. The 1000F made 60 pounds at 4,000, the RSV4 makes 60 at 8,000. The tall first gear only compounds the lack of torque down low. Horsepower? That's for bragging rights. If you have to know, the CBR made 113 at 9,250. The RSV4 makes 146 at 12,500. |

Love it.

Of the current litre bike, the cbr1k isn't supposed to be as bad |

And that's such bullshit about not being able to finish slipping the clutch until 60 mph.....WTF are they smoking. Cycle World is a crap magazine anyway. You want quality auto/bike journalism, the UK is the only source. |

I'll pass and buy 8.5 Buells.... or the BMW and 1 Buell or a Duc and a Buell or a GSXR1000 and 2 Buells....

Leo Vince already has slip-ons and full systems available. I don't know if AF1 has military discount, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Come on, Tuono V4!!! That's the one I'm waiting for. |

the rsv4 is only going for 16k? I thought it would wa smore than that.
Lets see if I can pull the hat trick in bike purchases before the year is out ;) Tom |

The BMW is a steal for the price, but I'd be willing to pay more for the Aprilia because it's a V4 and looks hot. Also, Aprilia prices typically drop a lot anyway.

The CW cover pic is the best I've ever seen of the RSV4. Almost looks normal when everything is at 45 degrees.
|
The thing looks fucking bad ass even with the shitty exhaust.
|
I think the stock exhaust looks fine. Granted it's big, but at least it's dark.
|
This bike sounds like it's totally bad ass. The CW article was pretty good.
|
I like it but if I was considering that type of a bike I would probably get a Duc 1198 instead.

I didn't say anything negative about the Aprilia...just that I lean more toward the Duc for MY $$. |
Ducati's solid-colored paint jobs are boring IMO

I need this bike.

The new Japanized Ducatis... not so much. Aprilias still look like Aprilias, and while they might not always be the most handsome bikes out there, they get full marks for maintaining their distinctive styling cues. |
I've never been super wild about the 1098 looks. I think I'd take the RSV4 Factory over the 1098. That being said, I'd take a 999S over both. I love that bike...and I'm not sure why.

And why it's a "bad" thing... well, it's not "bad", but Italian bikes are supposed to have their own look. The current look (once again, in my opinion) borrows too much from current and previous YamaKawaHonzuki designs. It is nowhere near as distinctive as previous generations. (916/996/998 etc) |
Not to mention the 1098 headlights are kindalike ripoffs of the Triumph 675
|
Just to be clear...I do like the RSV4 and I would want to ride it and the 1198 to make a final decision IF I was going to buy an Italian bike BUT at this point I do lean toward the Duc.
The only Duc I've ever ridden was a 2005 999R and I've never ridden an Aprilia. |
