Speaking of all the new bikes...

What did you think there wasn't going to be another one?
CRF450SMR It has a modification list a mile long, as well as a whole spare set of tires, including slicks, 7 extra plastic bodywork pieces and 8, yes 8, boxes of spare parts. I'd say it was a fair trade for a bike I could only ride "50%" of anyway. Oh and it's street "legal". ;) |
What did ya trade?
Also, what is on the forks? |

Congrats.
That is one nasty lookin' tard. :dribble: |

People say liter bikes are dangerous, nu-uh. They clearly never rode a supermoto. It might not go 150+mph, but this will wheelie up to it's top speed the entire time and stoppie all the way back down from it. I definitely made the right choice for me haha. |

Are they water proof? Would work great against bug splatter and bug crap ruining the fork seals, but they need to be water proof so it doesnt ruin the forks. |
congrats! Let us know how you like it after it's first track visit

They're apparently velcro and are on there in sections, so I can just use them to wrap the actual seals when I do take it on our ranch with a section of it. I doubt they're water proof, but I can re-zipty them on in the event I decide to get it wet. |
I need to find something like that. When I replaced my last seals they had some left over bugs in them.
|
Looks cool.
We really need a smiley that says congrats on he new bike |
ill trade you right now! thats exactly what i want
|
Tye, you're going to put an eye out with that thing.

You might as well go to DPS and give them your license now. If you ride that thing on the street much more, you know as well as I do what will happen. :tremble:

That's pretty much what I said.....and it's loud to the everyone can hear him for miles in the developments. I think we are taking it to his parents farm next weekend to play in the dirt a bit. I need to learn out to kick start the darn thing, I never did that before and don't want my first ride to be at the track. So I'm looking forward to play time.... |
Welcome to the dark side.... SEE there are cookies!!!
|
Congrats on the new bike.

Track verdict - CHECK PLUS PLUS
Forget sportbikes and being worn the hell out after a whole day of riding. This thing is the tits for the track. The only 2 issues I had - a "smaller than I thought" gas tank and the ability to kickstart in the cold. Thankfully I ran out coming right into pit, and learned the secret to the cold start. Pics soon to come hopefully if there are any of me. |
Nice... yeah I never understood the 'tard craze... until I got my DRZ... granted it's heavy as shit... but it's also shit loads of fun.
if I end up near a track or twisties... I'll have a tard version in my garage at my next base |

There's only minor pitfalls if you let them get to you, but every type of bike is different and it just took a quick adjustment. |
You sold ur ZX10r?

http://www.troybaker.com/mz/mz95.jpg However on the mountain roads here the only time any ground is made up by my sportbike buddies is on the really long sweapers..the rest of the stuff the tard is the boss :rockwoot: |

I suppose it's to my advantage that I ride a 1.8mi course that's "small" near me. The ZX barely got to 130mph on the biggest straight before I'd have to shut it down and ride the brakes into the oncoming turn(s). I put 15x37 gearing on the tard and really didn't even need 5th gear on the biggest straight, so I may change it up to 15x40 or something. |
I'm out of power....
I'm not tapping the rev limiter as much as I'm reaching the aerodynamic/power threshold (I believe) right at 105. I thought about taller gearing, but I’m afraid it might make it even worse where I’d run even further away from the torque sweet-spot. I LOVE the power of this 660 down low…it’s a friggin TRACTOR, but it has NO top end HP. I’ve researched a dual flatside/747 piston kit that could take me to 70 hp but that’s breaking the $2k barrier, and I’m not sure I want to invest that into this bike. PLUS…then you take a tried and true bulletproof motor and turn it into a possible grenade. I think my best bet it is to stick to the smaller tracks where THIS gearing will prevail…..it’s that or grab a small bottle of Nitrous and throw a 30 shot in it every time I approach a straight :lmao: |
How often do you need to change the oil on it? My DRZ would go about 2000 miles between oil changes if I used the good stuff, 1000 with crappy non-synthetic oil.
All I ever used at H2R was fourth and fifth gear and was lucky to hit 95. |

Problem is I don't know how far either is since it doesn't really have an odometer. The trailtech was crapping on the guy before I got it(wont read RPMs anymore), but I did see that it reads ambient & motor temps(important to me) and a general sense of mph. I say general because it has the sensor cable running to the front wheel, and I can't trust it 100%. |

I think you missed it.
