Awesome vids. Too bad I hate Harley AND Buell today.

Amber Lamps 01-04-2010 06:39 PM

Fucking Squids!!!! Hahahaha! I'm sorry but I am compelled to say that the first Vrod required a supercharger (and a 20 mph start)to do what any Japanese 600 can do out of the box at 70-80 mph. Now on the other side of that, if I were in the market for a Harley, the V-Rod would probably be it. No matter how you slice it, cool videos!!!!

Captain Morgan 01-04-2010 07:07 PM

I've liked the V-rod since it came out. If I don't buy a Victory, then I'll most likely get a V-rod.

marko138 01-04-2010 09:27 PM

Bad ass vids. Just hope HD brass doesn't kill those before they turn the finances around.

OneSickPsycho 01-04-2010 10:47 PM

That first one looks pretty sick... I would love to trick one of those out.

jalaan1 01-05-2010 12:24 AM

love the Vrod!!!

z06boy 01-05-2010 10:02 AM

If I bought a Harley...that would be the one for me. I've actually looked at them and considered it but have never ridden one.

tached1000rr 01-05-2010 10:10 AM

The vrod is the harley I would have if I were to get one.

It also weights twice as much plus a great deal longer wheelbase.

True...of course, I could point out that I could wheelie my '88 V-Max at least that well... In fact, I believe that they did a comparo when the V-Rod first came out and the V-Max kicked it's ass!! Again, that being said, if I were to buy a Harley, this would be the one for sure!!!

Dave 01-05-2010 10:49 PM

i gotta disagree with you guys, i like the vrod's power but it fails when the road aint straight. if i had to pick a harley it'd be an XR with termi highmounts. def looking forward to that xr onemake series in bsb next year

Yea I forgot that they sell those here now...hmmm, I might have to change my vote.

Tmall 01-06-2010 05:59 AM

I found out my guaranteed for life belt, isn't..

It just has no service interval, ie replace when it breaks, at about 200 bucks.

That is why I'm upset with buell..

Yeah I know what you mean but mine would be in addition to my R1 so I'd still get the VRod and probably a fat rear tire kit as well. The wife...in addition to her R6 wants the Victory Kingpin 8-Ball.

I haven't seen the XR with the Termi's so I'll have to check that out.

Same here, if I were to ever own a harley or any cruiser, it would be in addition the the sportbikes already in the garage.

I'm ignorant about HD names, what is the difference between the XR1200 and XR1200X?

Same.. :idk:

I've been unable to get a straight answer from my mechanic. He says he asks at every meeting they have. And nobody ever gives him a straight answer.

I asked around on Badweb, and apparently one of the guys who owns or works at a dealership told me, "lifetime" just means there is no maintenance replacement interval..

Shaft drive FTW. :runaway:

Homeslice 01-06-2010 12:50 PM

Shaft drive on a cruiser, sure.

As for the flat-black HD, that's way too much flat black IMO. It needs some gloss black pieces added to it. Right now it looks like all the 20-something stuntaz who wreck their bike and spray it flat black.

Close...drag racing a ZX-11, whooped his fucking ass too! Then there was this "ticking" noise and then there was this crunching noise and then there was this sobbing noise!

Dave 01-06-2010 09:07 PM

True, Mr. Money Bags.

wildchild 01-07-2010 09:38 AM

They certainly aren't made for cornering. I dragged peg in every single turn...slow, fast, whatever.

I've heard that too but I believe that "rear sets" are available.

This sucker had forward controls...which is how I'd roll it if it was mine. But I believe there are other options.

Shit! They don't make the one I'd want anyway! The Street Rod! It had better ground clearance and was lighter/ "sportier" .

Oh well, is what I say! Honestly, how badly are we gonna miss one model or another? I can just buy a muscle cruiser from someone else. Hell, there's one for sale in PA with under 5,000 miles and some upgrades for $9,000...

More adjustable suspension and uprated front brake calipers. Which makes it perform just about as well as my 6-years old POS BMW Rockster.

True, it has the Showa BPF front on it.
