In a box for 20 years?
They'd need an immediate tear down and rebuild. On top of that you'd have to break the fuckers in. Just to ride some porky under powered bikes that are now outclassed by tons of machines. but then when you're done...you start up the RC-30 for the first time and give it a couple of revs. nice |

being its been in a box for 20 years, you'd only REALLY need to prime the oil pump again. no rebuilding necessary. engines dont really wear or suffer damage if they've been kept in climate controlled storage and never even started. its not like bearings deteriorate from sitting.

but seals do.

Rebuild? Start? I doubt these bikes will ever experience either. I'm not usually a fan of that sort of thing but I guess sometimes things like this need to be preserved.

I used to FAWN over those bikes in magazines.
My friend runs a dealership in Winchester. He has a "new in crate" 1986 GSXR750 limited homologation bike. I told him if he ever uncrates it to call me and I will buy it for MSRP. It's perfect with the exception of a little blue spray paint on the tail section from where he sneaked into the warehouse and sprayed paint into the crate when he was 9 years old. He said it will probably wax out. |
I have ridden with a guy in our area that bought an RC30. He took it out on a group ride about 10 years ago. Wicked bike. He didn't baby it at all as he has raced WERA for years on the professional level, just not on this bike.
Thanks for sharing the vids |
