JoJoYZF 05-14-2008 11:43 AM

Ive heard of people using it before, I just cant remember if they had any complaints with it. Let me check my other forum and see if I can find the guys who use it.

I use it in the Car and the Bike.. Great oil.. No probs, no slipping.

dReWpY 05-14-2008 11:54 AM

im looking and seeing the same thing, great oil and not much on the complaint department...

dubbs 05-14-2008 12:03 PM

It's made for fuckin tractor trailers.. I think it will provide enought protection for our bikes..

Plus its only 16$ a gallon..

That plus a 4$ Purlator Pure One Filter = a cheap and quality oil change.

Im actually about to leave to go grab some oil and a filter and I may go with the rotella as well.

I have heard several people say they use it in their bikes and have no complaints about it. :idk:

Dnyce 05-14-2008 02:58 PM

tractor trailers are diesel engines....just fyi

I have almost 3800 miles on my bike with Rotella. No complaints here. It's quite popular over on the ZX-10R forum.

dReWpY 05-14-2008 06:15 PM

what is everyone using i only found 5w 40 in full synthetic, i talked to the local shop and he said that would be fine

JoJoYZF 05-14-2008 06:59 PM

I just put in 10w-40 this afternoon in mine.

dubbs 05-14-2008 07:43 PM

5w-40 full syn

dReWpY 05-14-2008 07:45 PM

That's what I'm using. Rotella only offers 1 viscosity in dino, and 1 in synthetic. I run the synthetic.

dReWpY 05-15-2008 11:13 AM

im going to test out the new HH pads, new cruise control and warm the oil up and am swapping it out when i get back

Pretty sure they also make 15w-40

Unless I imagined it. :idk:

15W-40 in dino, 5W-40 in synthetic. That's what I've been able to find.

I did my first oil change to dino at 84 miles.

I ran with Rotella 15W-40 dino and changed the oil again at 448, 1005 and 2714 miles.

At 3145 miles, I switched to Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic and am currently at roughly 3800 miles on the odometer, still running that first batch of synthetic.

The bike seems to like it just fine.

The only person I've seen complain about Rotella is that Amsoil dealer on the other forum (which I no longer visit). Go figure.
