So I don't think this is a repost, but MotoUSA did a super comparo this year instead of splitting them up like Motorcyclist did. The videos are pretty awesome. Steve Atlas and Adam Waheed don't pump out as much technical information as the Sport Rider guys, but they are pretty descriptive and funny as hell....

But boy would I love to have these guys jobs for just a goddamn week, ride all these beasts, and make my own deductions.

As far as the conclusions and placing go, it seems about right. I completely hate how Ducati sends a tricked up Corse S to a stock competition. That completely opens up questions about lap times and capabilities because of the trick suspension and exhaust bits. You didn't see Aprilia send the Factory edition, or KTM send the RC8R. I think the Duc would have faired much different with stock bits.

Basically, a no frills, three year old Honda down by 20hp wiped the floor with the BMW but the Beemer has lots of cool gadgets so it wins!

Huh, the BMW dominated Masterbike this year. The thing was almost 10mph faster than anything else on the straights and put up the fastest times. The Honda was mid-pack.

Well one good thing is that no matter which one you choose...it will be a kickazz bike to own. They are all just so good these days.

I watched and read the Masterbike articles too. They included the MV Augusta F4 as well as the Factory version of the Aprilia. Whereas I like the MotoUSA guys, I can't fucking stand the Cycleworld guy. He talks like a stoner, and he narrates videos like he is reading off of a script.

For sure!! I'm not so hot on the 'priller, Zuk, or Duc.... but I would give anything to rock the other 3 japs and the KTM.

I just did a mini aftermarket feasability study, seems to me you could add a full akro, bazzaz z-fi qs tc, decent rubber and some other goodies to a zx10 with a little smart shopping and still come out under the bimmer :2cents:

I completely get your point and would rather have the Honda, but will the Honda have 182+ horsepower, and run the strip faster than the mighty Busa???

Not without cams and a redline increase. Thus why I chose the zed for my example. Still though, these things aren't drag racers and dyno numbers aren't absoloute. THEY went faster on the blade even with said power deficit. Try that on the busa ;)

Ehh......no. WAY too much black for my tastes. It is really necessary to black out the forks and the exhaust and the rearsets? That's gotta be a photoshop, I've never seen a manufacturer go to that extreme.

The Yammie looks like a preying mantis. The Honda looks like a bird. The Kawi is tough. I think it looks more insect than bird.

The Honda looks good from a rear 3/4 view......But from a front 3/4 view it looks like it caught a whiff of something stanky and is trying to back the fuck up.

Apparently the traction control and ABS on the BMW really helps the lesser skilled riders turn in better time while feeling comfortable doing it.

I don't know about other people but if I were to want to feel "comfortable" going fast, I might as well ride the 600. Why ride a liter bike that has the fun switch automatically kick in now and then? If you can't handle the power then you should be riding something less potent. It's that simple.

You don't have to get ABS or Traction control. Those are both options. The regular version is cheaper if that's what you want on a bike.

That TC turns off. It's not "fun police", it's electronics that are designed to make you go faster, and it works.

The only "fun" I could see being taken away is the "fun" of spinning the tires in a turn. But I'm betting 95% of you don't even ride aggressively enough to do that. And even if you do, you probably don't think it's fun.....On the contrary, it probably makes you freak out and almost highside because you chop the throttle. I'd say only A-group track riders are skilled enough to accurately claim that they have "fun" spinning their tires.

I get what you are saying, but some people would define "fun" as being free of worry........For example, being able to maximize your lean and your speed without worrying about whether too much throttle is going to make you crash.

Once again, if you can't handle the power of the liter bike, then swallow the ego and go with the lesser displacement bike or a weaker V-twin. Why get the baddes muthas in the world and then ride like a pussy?

They are showing quite well in World Superstock 1000. Undefeated so far.

Because they like the bike and technology is good. Why do you ride a FI bike, carbs work just fine and you are a real man if you regularly tune your carb for the type of riding you are going to do that day. You don't need no silly computer to help you out.

You are depending too much on technology to determine how the bike performs, you should stick to needles/jets and your knowledge of tuning an engine instead of allowing a computer to do it for you. You shouldn't feel good about going fast while you are letting computer do the work for you.

you know, no matter how many times I mention Superstock 1000, he just keeps on bypassing that shit. The superstocks are much closer to what we see on the street than any WSBK and the BMW is owning the series.
