THat's not exactly how it went... First his dad told him it was falling off, but then he saw me go by and decided to make another lap... he passed me, then when I finally caught up with him I secured it.

Yeah, that was my 2nd pass through the thing and I was damn slow. I got faster as I figured out the rhythm of the road... In fact, I think the last pass I made was my best one... Despite all the shit I was hauling.

dReWpY 05-28-2008 10:31 PM

i have to agree on that, you were a penis hair away from dragging

Mr Lefty 05-28-2008 10:43 PM

Yeah, you were like, "you got it!" and I was like, "nope."

It was pretty frustrating watching Trip, mere feet in front of me through some of those turns just draggin' and sparkin' all over the place. Fuck it. I know I can do it now... there's no doubt.

dReWpY 05-28-2008 11:15 PM

just get your ass off the seat! and get the knee out a lil more, you are more then you need to be as far as lean wise

Mudpuppy 05-28-2008 11:59 PM

just be like drewpy and drag some sack..

dReWpY 05-29-2008 12:01 AM

almost 20k now... and runs like a champ, this engine just keeps getting better with the more miles i put on it

any chance of A being up and bringing the money camera? i want some good sparky pics at dust, that would be awesome

How's your foot position for the inside foot. Just the placement alone will prevent you from getting that knee flexed out a bit more. In the begining, it should feel uncomfortable. Just make sure your upper is moving off, too. Put your armpit over your gas cap. Worry about putting your head by your mirror later. I still don't do that.

dReWpY 05-29-2008 12:10 AM

i dont know how a buell rides, but its gotta be difernt then a real sportbike :owned:

Trip 05-29-2008 07:44 AM

I will say one thing, the bike he was riding was not the best for getting your body postion in the right place easily. That thing felt like shit to sit on from a kneedragging point of view. Probably was nicer for touring the long distance he did though.

Trip helped me with my positioning... I was dragging toes instead of knees and he followed me for a bit to figure it out... My foot positioning was fine (cause I've always focused on that). Turns out I wasn't moving my leg/ass around the tank, but rather straight off the side.

Once he pointed that out I immediately got more comfortable... and faster. The damn bike was just so wide it was hard for me to get it right. I still have too much weight on the bars in the turns, partially due to my fat ass... partially due to the bike I was on.

I'm gonna hit the gym and keep practicing... I'll hit the track sometime this summer and I'm sure I'll be much faster...
