Winter pet peeve
 

Now that the car thread is almost beaten to death I have another one after I just shoveled out my sidewalk and part of my driveway (would have did all of it but didnt want to have a heart attack :lol:)

The people who think its a good idea to throw the snow back into the street. its actualy illegal here but rareley enforced, not many people do it around here but a lot of fucktards in brooklyn were doing it after the blizzard which made the streets even more impassable. I do like seeing a plow go by and plow those fuckers back in though

Yep I hate them to especially when you're driving by and they throw the shit at your car like it doesn't matter.

They try that shit around here and the plow driver will deliberately drop 3 feet of snow at the end of their driveway and pack that shit down like you wouldn't believe. You'd be chipping out with a freakin' jackhammer.

I've seen it done :lol:

We almost never get enough snow for the plows to actually accumulate any of the diverted snow :rockwoot:

Side note: On the news every night here, they whine and cry about how we've already blown thru our salt/snow moving budget and there's still 54 more days of spring.

I remember all the people from LI coming up and almost shitting themselves when they saw that huge building just dedicated to snowplows and stuff :lol:

It's not that hard to blow the budget when you only budget for a bag of salt and a dump truck. :lol: Joke...but yep they are saying that here too.

We get that every year too, it hasnt even snowed yet and theyre overbudget or out of stuff for snow removal. We have gotten a lot of snow down here compared to recent years.

Central and upstate NY have some serious snow removal equipment. Get in the way of the plow train and they'll find your buggy in the spring when the snow banks melt. :lol:

One thing I always do is clear the snow from the road on the left side of my driveway ( heading out ). Makes for less plow hump and more importantly, less "ammo" for the snow plow driver to hit my mailbox with AGAIN

I don't understand the point of it really, it's just going to get plowed right back onto your driveway when the plow goes by....

Depends on how far and where you put it in the street.

Bastards hit it again wenesday night or thursday morning. It's pointing about 10* down the road now and the board holding the mailbox is loose ( again ) :gofurslf:

I saw a snowplow once. In Wyoming, about four years ago. That sucked, so I left and now avoid places like that.

On the downside, it's gonna be in the seventies here this weekend, and my left hand is in a cast.

Not if it gets thrown slightly down the street, then the plow just pushes it right past the driveway

And if everyone on the street does it, the only person who doesn't get screwed is the first person on the street.

My friend Bob works for a local township and drives plow truck during the winter.

Somebody's grandmother had just finished shoveling her driveway and had stupidly thrown all the snow on the left side of her driveway. ( facing out )

Here comes Bob in the townships tri axle dump truck plowing snow and he can see grandma yelling at him not to plow the snow back in her driveway. Since he's responsible for clearing the entire road, he stays in his lane.

As he approaches the driveway, grandma throws the shovel and it bounces off the windshield. :lol

He stopped to explain that if she put the snow on the other side of her driveway she would have less to shovel again. He said she let loose with an expletive lanced rant that would have made a sailor blush :lol:

I hope he took the shovel and rammed it up her ass :lol

My driveway is 2 cars wide so I toss snow on both sides, or where there is room (shits piling up here) this guy did something that made the plow turn downward as he went by, not sure if it was deliberate or bad timing. Our sanitation guys suck as far as trash pick up and that sort of thing and we have made complaints about them in the past, but had been ok the last several months, so thats why I wonder if it was deliberate or not.

Bob's a gentle giant, about 6'3" and about 270 lbs of muscle. He said the woman was 70 or so too ( got to give her props for shoveling her own driveway even if she was bat shit crazy :lol: )

Deliberate but hard to prove without video. Why confront you personally when he can act like a juvenile and giggle like a girl when he drives off.

True, best part was last year they tore up part of the driveway, we reported it and had pics and told us too bad, so fuck helping these guys out.
