OSP you bastard.
All that long story about looking at bikes in your last post and you didn't get one?!?!?!
I totally thought you were going to fold and get the DRZ towards the end there.... fucking do it mang :rockwoot: I want to ride a motard still. Looks like a blast. |
It's not in the cards anytime soon..... Trust me, I'd LOVE to have bought that 'tard, but the more sensible side of me reasoned with my raging hardon and for once came out on top.

Nothing against the SV's... but after your time on the xb, I think you would be slightly dissappointed on one. but then again I've never ridden a 1K :idk:

I was originally looking for an SV1k when I started looking into Buells... I still think it's one of the best looking bikes out there... Dump the front forks and replace them with Gixxer shit and they are fucking beautiful. |
A friend of mine just bought one, 800 miles on the odo for $6k.

Or get a 'tard, those things are absolutely sick fun.

I like the distance thing too much to JUST have a tard... it'd be a 2nd bike for sure...
|
so how close are you to buy'n a bike? you still have the RR up for sale?

what have you sold? or have to sell?
|
Sold the Corbin seat/pillion for cash and partial trade for stockers, just bought the stock rearsets and will be selling the Vortex ones here shortly... Supposed to get with a guy locally today about a stock can, then the Micron will go... I'll probably just sell the carbon fiber hugger and run without... Slowly but surely, it's going.
I was actually thinking about selling the plastics and fightering it out, then selling it real cheap as a fighter... Dunno though, gotta see what I can get for the plastics. |
good luck!

It's too bad it's a 954, they're not a hugely popular bike, plus I think they only made them for two years, because you can make double what the bike is worth by parting it out. The only saving grace may be that stunters use 954's quite a bit, so if you join stuntlife or another stunter-specific site you could probably sell most of the parts rather quickly. Still probably take you a year to part it out though.
I have a buddy with a very clean DRZ400SM for sale, low miles, $3900. |
Actually, I've had a lot of people talk to me about my bike saying it's their all-time favorite bike (2 sales guys at seperate dealers, and some randome guy while out to eat)... Nobody's got any money though... Plus with the Fireblades forum, I'm sure I would have no problem unloading it. The problem is, do I really want to fuck around with it?

Yeah, the big question is do you have the garage space and patience to part it out. Time is money, you have to ask yourself if the higher amount you'd get for parting it out is worth the time it's going to take. Another issue is this, you've got to be pretty damn good with money to make it worth your while. The cash is going to come in trickles, and you've got to be careful not to spend it as you get it at a few hundred at a time, but rather put it in a seperate place and save it til you can buy a bike, which is tough. |
