how do you pay tolls?
I have a 25 step process to paying tolls.
1. pull up to toll booth 2. stop bike, shut it off this might take some time 3. get off bike 4. open tank bag, look inside, close tank bag 5. open tail bag , look inside, close tail bag 6. put hand on hip, scratch head 7. search pockets in riding jacket 8. give finger to car behind you that is honking 9. search pockets in riding pants 10. put hand on hip, scratch head, make angry grunting sound 11. open tank bag again, look inside tank bag again close tank bag 12. have idea, hold up finger to watch the shadow from the lightbulb iluminated above head 13. remove top of 1 piece suit 14. pull 1 piece suit down to ankle level 15. remove money from wallet in jeans 16. pay toll 17. pull up suit, zip up tight, adjust balls 18. ensure tail bag is closed 19. ensure tank bag is closed 20. mount bike 21. attempt to start bike 22. look around like an idiot 23. put up kick stand, turn kill switch back to the weird circle setting 24. wave at car behind you that is now honking insecantly and cursing at you 25. ride away |
EZ pass?

I think it's safe to say that the toll booth was not invented by a motorcyclist.
|
What are toll booths? redflip
Gotta love Columbus! |
I ride past the booth and let the passenger handle the transaction

EZ Pass. The one on my bike has an M on it so I remember which one is supposed to be for the bike
|
E-Pass... Sometimes... or wheelie through it at a high rate of speed... or reach back and hide it with my hand...
|
I thought about getting an easy pass but they have fees and I don't use it enough.

I think the NJ one has fees.
Particle... but how does an out of state guy get it? |

They actualy just sent me 2 new ones and a pouch to return the oldones. |
I have the m stamped ez pass. Haven't ridden across a brudge or tunnel since I got it. I got it a few months prior to having kids which would explain why I don't go on those long rides anymore
|
The closest toll booth I can think of is about 5 hours away, not far from Tmall. So generally, I dont pay tolls.

:skep: People worry about Apple following them around, and then put a fucking tracking beacon in their cars. Hmm. Whatever. I suppose a paranoid person would pay cash, except for the fact that at the toll booth, your plate is photographed, and presumably run immediately the moment you access the highway anyway...so perhaps it's of little consequence either way in regards to privacy...but one does have to wonder exactly which day they will suddenly decide to start comparing your on-ramp and off-ramp times in order to just mail you speeding tickets...but I digress... |

I have a Fasttrack pass (CA) which is only for a faster commute and then I have an I-pass for the Chicagoland area. |

I cross a toll bridge twice a day. It's only 75 cents. I use a Macpass in the car. Used to have velcro on the bike for it.
|
1. Pre-plan and put appropriate amount of cash in pocket that is on the right wrist of the Stich.
2. Roll up, put bike in neutral, open zipper (not removing gloves) pay the man. 3. Collect change back to cash pocket. 4. Leave. You clearly haven't done this enough. |

My almost sure-fire way not to have to reach in my pocket for change at a toll:
1) Pull into stall 2) deploy side stand 3) pick up dropped change off the ground, and pop it in the machine |

I have neither and would rather gouge my eyeballs out with a rusty crack spoon than call their call center. |

We went through the tag replacement recently (they replace them every so often before the batteries die). We put 'em in the foil bags and dropped them in the mail as instructed. The geniuses pulled 'em out of the foil bags prior to loading them on a truck that was headed into Jersey (I assume for recycling and reprogramming). Of course, when you cross any bridges or tunnels in NY/NJ, guess what happens?
Yep: you have to pay a toll. Since our returned EZ-Passes were in this truck and not in the foil bags all of 'em had a bunch of tolls registered. Took forever to sort out. |
So, the people who actually handle these devices don't know how to transport them properly without generating unnecessary charges on your bill? Geniuses. Well, I'd trust them...

Q: Can I use i-Zoom in more than one vehicle? A: Yes, although it is not recommended. As long as it is the same class vehicle, you can share the i-Zoom with other vehicles (maximum of 5 vehicles can share an i-Zoom). You must first call the i-Zoom Customer Care Center at 1-888-496-6690 Monday - Thursday 8am - 5:30pm or Friday 8am-2pm EST and register each vehicle to the i-Zoom account. In the case of an unsuccessful toll transaction using the i-Zoom, an unregistered vehicle may be subject to toll violations and fines, and must pay the full cash toll fare. Q: Can I add another vehicle to my account online? A: This option is currently not available to be updated or viewed online. If you are sharing a transponder, you must register each vehicle to your i-Zoom account by e-mailing the i-Zoom Customer Care Center. A maximum of 5 vehicles may share an i-Zoom. Q: Can I use my regular i-Zoom when I occasionally tow a trailer or drive an R.V? A: Yes. Our i-Zoom technology will automatically calculate and deduct the proper toll. You do not need to use the cash lanes or purchase a special transponder. You must register all vehicles to the i-Zoom account. Q: Can I use i-Zoom on a motorcycle? A: Yes. However, there are no recommended installation locations and we can not guarantee the functionality. Has some list of vehicles that have windshield problems... LOL https://www.getizoom.com/pdf/Transpo...structions.pdf But it looks like the indiana is the one for us Michigan boys to get.... |
Um, that list is pretty much all common cars

Well I think the film is the sound deadening film they put over some windshields. I know the wife's Fiesta has it as well. Oh well.
