Apparently, to impress the bail bonds crowd.

It looks stupid.

Its the Taxi that services Stereotypeville...

Homeslice 06-26-2011 12:28 PM

Open the hood and it's probably the stock engine. Also, 30-series tires have got to ride like ass.

Avatard 06-26-2011 01:47 PM

Impressive. Someone spent a lot of time re-contouring the fenders.

Rangerscott 06-26-2011 02:31 PM

We got those here. Gotta spend that welfare check on something yo.

Yeah. The fronts look like Michael J. Fox did them by hand after a couple drinks.

Everything about that car is stupid. Probably the stupidest part is the one that sits in the driver's seat.

Avatard 06-26-2011 05:04 PM

Must ride like a fucking cement truck.

defector 06-26-2011 08:07 PM

Awesome. That thing has as much (or more) ground clearance than todays typical 4WD truck.

If a whity did this, theyd be called white trash.

Avatard 06-26-2011 11:23 PM

No, it would be called "West Coast Customs".

Homeslice 06-27-2011 02:14 AM

Color is irrelevant. It looks stupid no matter WHO is driving it.

AquaPython 06-27-2011 09:42 AM

with stock breaks, good luck stopping.

Test drove an SUV last weekend for the wife that had 35 series 20" tires. Definitely a rough ride, went with the less spendy 50 series 19".

The 20's were $500 each on tire rack too; pass on that too since I doubt I'd get 60k out of them like my truck tires.

I would have gone with 30" rear and 22" fronts...That way I could watch the road thru the sun roof!

Why not? If they one the business on the back window it will get it noticed. Around here they were using Hummers and H2 when they came out. They also did it with the Smart car.

Would I do it? No. Not 30" on that car or any car for that matter. A truck would be a different story.

Whats the price on the 19" tires. The more common sizes are normally priced better. Maybe 22" are taking away the sales from the 20" tires.

I just threw up in my mouth a little...

Nope...Wait a minute.....A LOT!!

The 19's are only $270 to $320. Aside from the extra 1" diameter, the tires were extremely different sizes:

255/50/19 (less rigid of a ride, and less concern of pothole damage) vs.
315/35/20 (just a LOT of tire for a kid-haulder )

The 20's came with much more interesting wheels, but not nice enough to justify the added cost.

Avatard 06-28-2011 02:31 AM

Why the fuck should tires like that cost more? There's less fucking rubber, more rim. Shit's almost down to a pinstripe anymore when viewed from the side. These motherfuckers are saving rubber...why the upcharge?

Stupidity tax?

Different/new molds, and construction etc etc. Just cause there is less there, doesn't make it cheaper. Kinda like buying your woman lingere.

You compared buying tires to buying a woman lingerie...and yet you wanna make a joke about my sexuality?

Newsflash: if you had ever actually had sex with a real female, you'd know that buying tires is NOTHING like buying your woman lingerie.

You will absolutely not get head for buying tires.

Fail. Miserably. Horribly. Embarrassingly.

Cutty72 06-28-2011 05:35 AM

The price douche. The more you pay, the less you get, but you pay more to get more.

And newsflash, I have gotten head for buying tires.

315's ????

What kind of SUV was this, a Porsche Cayenne or something?

That's a big step up from 255's. I assume those rims are a couple inches wider than the standard ones?

X5, but yeah, the 315's were part of the M sport package. The wheels were much nicer, but not exactly the kind of tire I need on an SUV. Save that stuff for the performance vehicles and let the SUV be just that... with a nicer ride and tires with a better treadwear rating.
