ceo012384 10-08-2008 03:15 PM

For whatever reason my track days and subsequent photo deliveries are always completely out of sync with POTM's....

Oh well. Should def make this one.

Okay, this one has to take the cake for artistic something or another. How often do you see a bike posing with a missile trail in the background sky?

Except that's from a jet, not a missle.

Mr Lefty 10-10-2008 02:10 AM

dunno... could be a missle...

Cutty72 10-10-2008 02:18 AM

sure fly boy...

Mr Lefty 10-10-2008 02:41 AM

well I can't see it now... but I thought it could have been a missle when I saw it this morning

Nope. That's a missile trail, buddy. It came from the direction of Alamogordo which is the home of Whitesand Missile Range.

you can also tell the contrail comes from the ground, that's definitely a missle or rocket. Unless some flyboy went vertical on takeoff.

and the angle is too steep for it to be flying across the sky... and with your viewing aspect... the trail should get narrower as it goes to the horizon... not wider... also the trails don't last all that long so it'd only stretch half way across the sky...

PhiSig1071 10-10-2008 05:18 PM

Cutty72 10-10-2008 09:24 PM

:idk: looked like 2 streams meshed into one, meaning a jet...

guess I just don't live anywhere near a missle launch range. near missle silo's, yes... but they don't use 'em.

so i concede...

and yes ebbs, you are still a punk squid.

Yosh makes other products besides exhaust. You could very easily have products from both manufacturers on your bike at the same time.

I do actually. I had the Yosh programmer on my last two bikes, unfortunately it would not work on the new bike and they don't make it anymore. Also,Yosh sells stage one,two and three race kits, actually a great deal of stuff. Truth be told tho',I bought the plastic as it sits. The next set will better reflect the products that I actually use (to include Pirelli tires:whistle:). I should have the new set by Christmas according to the company. Also, according to them,it's all going to be injection molded and "exactly" the same as stock. We'll see...

I have never posted pics for this contest cause it just wouldn't be fair. I can add and subtract votes from polls to make whoever I want win.

It doesn't have to have a bike in it, but it has to be bike related. You have to be able to relate it to riding in some way. Like if you rode to Mount Rushmore and took a pic without the bike in the pic, that would be something I would consider to allow. Chewy pics that aren't bike related aren't allowed.

Hey Kat, if you are around for the wedding pictures, me and A are taking a pic on my bike. My bike will be at the wedding, but I am trailering it up there.

dReWpY 10-22-2008 11:05 AM

Although he said if you look at a higher res version it's really noisy.

:idk: what the res needs are for a front page shot

it doesnt matter what res, i adjust it if it needs to be adjusted. Just make it at least 640 wide if you can. I think the res I use is 640x480

your playing to a slightly track focused crowd... but there have been a couple winners that weren't track shots...

Thing about track shots is they're always cool shots... it's harder to find/make a compareable shot that the average member is gonna like.

take last month... mine was EASILY the best picture.... everyone elses sucked... but two were on the track so they they were cool... and well as epic as my shot was... it wasn't good enough to over come the cheap thrill of drag'n a knee on a motard...

(ok... for you sarcasam chalanged people... that last paragraph was a joke.)

Sixxxxer 10-23-2008 02:15 AM

Yeah Big Nahuna Wasnt a Track SHot but he had Hayden Street Sign in the Picture...Again Track Related.

I'm not mad though Maybe One day Ill get there.

Thing about POTM is To me it should be YOU taking the picture not...Kinda hard to take pictures of yourself at a trackday...Therefor id get more satisfaction out of POTM if every winner actuallly took the photo submitted

ehh naw... this is just a photo contest... not a photography contest... in otherwords it's not a who can take the best photo... but who's got the best photo... you have to have rights to it... so either you took it or your in it, and got rights from the author.

again... this is a motorcycle forum... not a photography forum ya know? there are a few of us here though that dabble in photography.

the thing to remember these are going on the front page... so as artistic as your shot of the headlight was... it got the "cool shot" reaction from me... but not something I'd put on the front page as it doesn't represent the forum IMO...

That's how I vote... you've definatly got tallent... but it's just hard to beat a track shot for the front page of our forum

Sixxxxer 10-23-2008 02:55 AM

I'm not Disagreeing with you...I just have my Opinion on the Matter...Trust me I def know this isnt a Photo Forum..I'm not even On any because I dont like them.

I'm just competitive so I wanna be on the front page...Lol

Mr Lefty 10-23-2008 02:57 AM

yeah I didn't think you were... and I wasn't try'n to argue if it sounded that way... just conversing...

I hear ya... I was hope'n last month would do it for me as it's the only month I was home riding...

but I may just have to take some intresting ones here in Korea of motorcycles to submit...

wonder if Scooters are motorcycle related

Sixxxxer 10-23-2008 03:03 AM

Id Say So...Shit Is Rossi can Wheelie one Thats be a cool shot!!!

Lol.

Mr Lefty 10-23-2008 03:06 AM

 well if I saw one wheelie here it'd be cool... but as 1. I don't have my camera yet... DAMN IT! and 2. most of them are ridden by 60 year old men and they have 10000lbs of shit on the back... I'm not likely to see it...

then again... with that much weight... it's supprising they're not wheelie'n 24/7

Sixxxxer 10-23-2008 03:08 AM

Lol, Truth!!!

There has got to be some Cool stuff to Photograph in Korea though...Unless your in a Shit part of the Country.

Mr Lefty 10-23-2008 03:21 AM

yeah I'm in the shit part of the country... that is... inside the korean boarders

Sixxxxer 10-23-2008 03:24 AM

Truth To that Sir.

When is your Last Day?? I know you said march didnt know if you had an exact date.

Mr Lefty 10-23-2008 04:01 AM

well my last day in korea is in Feb... first week or so... but I'll be flying back to Alaska to pack up my shit and drive down to Mississippi. I'll be leaving AK last week in Feb... and figure 2-3 weeks later I'll be in Mississippi.

Yeah Big Nahuna Wasnt a Track SHot but he had Hayden Street Sign in the Picture...Again Track Related.

I'm not mad though Maybe One day Ill get there.

Thing about POTM is To me it should be YOU taking the picture not...Kinda hard to take pictures of yourself at a trackday...Therefor id get more satisfaction out of POTM if every winner actuallly took the photo submitted

hah funny thing is theres a rossi road somewhere in cooktown. back when big posted that shot i had briefly considered zipping up there and doing the same picture just to cheese him off lol
