ffffffarkin hell

Rider 10-17-2008 12:02 PM

It's like that super hot chick you want to fuck, but cant because either you are taken or she is...:idk: Some things is life aren't fair.

NONE_too_SOFT 10-17-2008 12:04 PM

or because my game is weak. or she has herpes.

either fucking way i want to ride today, and god damn if its not 45 degrees and prolly about to start snowing.

The rider in me 3 years ago would have said fuck it im riding as long as lava isnt falling from the heavens... i wish i had his naivety about riding.

u know what this means, right? i'll have to winterize this sunovabitch soon. fuck that.

neebelung 10-17-2008 12:05 PM

DO it! Ride!! (Enjoy!!!)

We're all excited, we'll be dropping into the mid 50's Sunday night! WOOO HOOOOO! We're getting into PRIME riding weather in FL!

JoJoYZF 10-17-2008 12:08 PM

Its in the low 50s in my area right now and I was just out running errands on the bike. It honestly wasnt that cold out. Definitely not looking forward to winterizing it in the next few weeks or month.

smileyman 10-17-2008 12:12 PM

I just go. If I feel like riding i just gear up and go. Double check tire pressure, wait until she is fully warmed up. Make sure you have the gear...I remember times where I layered up with clothes, thermals, 3 t Shirts and just went. Even if I couldn't go full out (or even 55mph) or if I had to come home after 15 miles, I just go!

PiZdETS 10-17-2008 12:18 PM

That's the conundrum. Cold weather = faster bike, but also = cold rider and tires.
Anyone else really notice a difference in throttle response and power throughout the rev range when it's 50 as opposed to say 75? It's like night and day for me.

smileyman 10-17-2008 12:19 PM

That's cause Vespas are partial to air density! HA!

Oh hell yeah.... that first really nice, cool day in fall/early winter, the first good goose of the throttle (even on my old beast of a bike), it's like "WHOAH!!! Happy bike!"

Yes, on cooler days I need to be extra careful in 1st and 2nd or I'll be doing 12 o'clock in the blink of an eye. When I get above 6500(when the SET valve opens) it wants to break loose like an out of control bull.

smileyman 10-17-2008 12:36 PM

I used to love watching the first practice in February with my race club...It was always full of those 2nd week in February, 8 am, newly tuned bike, cold tires, new racer faux pas! One year a guy lost it on pit exit as he whacked the throttle pulling out:zowned: It was like a laugh track and a hi-lite reel every year...

dReWpY 10-17-2008 02:57 PM

its going to be 60's this weekend, i am riding comfortably in the sunshine

Don't be a pussy .....45 is nothing. :eatatthey:

Mr Lefty 10-17-2008 04:15 PM

I've ridden in 45* and I'll say this... never again unless I have heated gear... just not worth it... your too busy being cold to enjoy the ride... and it's hard to stay focused when your freezing.

and 45* on a sport bike is different than 45* on a Touring bike... ( used to hear all the time how people rode in 37* weather no problem on their gold wings) and I don't wanna think about the naked bikes... :panic:

Shift 10-17-2008 04:44 PM

Currently 80 here.

Damn it, just starting raining as I typed that above. :panic::panic:

Last weekend, it was rain and snow. Today it hit 72 and tomorrow will be near 80. Pretty much what we have here, you guys back east will have in two days or so.

Depends also on length of ride and if you are riding in town or highway.
