Got the forks swapped!!

Finally got those non-matching-the-wheels gold forks off and the bike's look is now complete! The pics are a bit dark, I'll get new ones up tomorrow.

looks a lot better

Mr Lefty 11-28-2008 08:03 PM

looks good bro... I'm with Tigger... rattle can your exhaust black... shit would look sick as fuck.

DLIT 11-28-2008 08:05 PM

I'm not even gonna waste my time with the stock exhaust. It'll be gone soon enough.

Captain Morgan 11-28-2008 09:28 PM

Powdercoat those pegs after you get that exhaust changed out, too.

DLIT 11-28-2008 09:56 PM

I'm not powder coating something that will eventually be off the bike.

OneSickPsycho 11-28-2008 10:03 PM

Looks way better.

Rearsets and exhaust and be done.

Mr Lefty 11-28-2008 10:04 PM

yeah leave them if your gonna just get rear sets... probably get a decent amount on Egay for them.

tlstreak 11-28-2008 10:10 PM

I liked the gold better. The whole black out thing has been beat to death. A little accent sets the bike off IMO.

Accents are great when they all match and are done right, but when your accent pieces don't match, the whole thing looks like crap.

ericr 11-28-2008 11:32 PM

I'm glad you kept the wheels though, I think they look good on the black bike! I can take or leave the gold forks, looks good with the black too and since that's what you like then it's a good swap!!

BobTheBiker 11-29-2008 12:10 AM

Now that the forks match the paint, rather than mismatched gold shades, it looks 100% better. I'd rock it.

Blow me! It's almost impossible to find gold pieces that match perfectly...you can think my bike looks like "crap" if you want but I really wanted to follow a theme at the time...Nyahh nyahh nyahh!

Tig your bike looks good! the only thing I'd swap out are the gold parts with black ones... :2cents: doesn't make it look like shit though

Aw thanks,Ebbs. Yea I have black rearsets already but buying the chain adjusters,chain,tri-metal sprocket, levers, forks, etc just to please you bastards doesn't really appeal to me for some reason....

pickle.of.doom 11-29-2008 03:07 AM

that bike would look even sicker IMO if you had the wheels powdercoated the same blue as the rest of the theme. WHite wheels look good too, but that blue would look sweet.

You really think so? Hmmm...I'd probably go paint instead of powdercoat talk about color matching problems.... How about doing the spoke area in blue and the rim in white?

pickle.of.doom 11-29-2008 03:15 AM

Any combo of the blue and white down there would look pretty sweet. Would totally bring out the NC scheme too.

Maybe, that blue is fucking hott for sure! BTW how'd you like that so called game yesterday in Detroit?

pickle.of.doom 11-29-2008 03:20 AM

Spoken like a true Lions fan! Of course, it sucks that you've had to say that shit for oh almost two fucking decades now, yeesh!

pickle.of.doom 11-29-2008 03:27 AM

It helps that I have been a hockey fan first and foremost my whole life!

The only good times with the Lions in my lifetime were the days of Barry.

Actually, the tires were new when I took that pic AND I get off the bike enough so that I don't have to scrape the pegs to get around a corner! Of course, you're right at my age and considering the amount of damage I'm carrying,I don't chase the limits of grip like I used to. I'm happy with double posted limit these days... Besides,"Sonny" come see me when you can ride your bike down the street WITHOUT hitting parked cars!:dthumb:

Carolina 11-29-2008 07:47 AM

:zowned::zowned::zowned::zowned: ohhh shit I knew I was walking ok running into that one:lol::lol:

Believe me man, I'm not hating, your bike is gorgeous. If you saw mine right now (or any pics that were taken in the last 6 months) I'm sure you wouldn't think too highly of it. She's a rideable work in progress. But like fine wine, all good things come in time.

And as far as accents go, if your bike is one color and one color only, then accents that don't match just look cheesy and thrown together.

neebelung 11-29-2008 08:28 AM

 Looks AMAZING, man... seriously beautiful.

Carolina 11-29-2008 08:29 AM

oh yeah Dlit bike looks good

marko138 11-29-2008 09:18 AM

Looks good brother.

Amber Lamps 11-29-2008 10:40 AM

I'm sorry my brother from another mother! Your bike does look great! Are you going to change the caliper too?

NeonspeedRT 11-29-2008 10:56 AM

Definatly looks sharp man. Stealth is the way to go.

DLIT 11-29-2008 02:30 PM

Thanks everyone.

Dnyce 11-29-2008 02:35 PM

wheres the daylight pics?

anthonyk 11-29-2008 03:54 PM

That turned out really nice. :dthumb:

Homeslice 11-29-2008 06:15 PM

Nice.........I felt the same way about the gold forks on the 03-04 636, they looked like crap against the silver frame. Silver and gold just don't go together IMO.

t-homo 11-29-2008 07:21 PM

Looks damn nice man.

DLIT 11-29-2008 08:25 PM

I got riding pics. I gotta wait for a buddy to upload 'em.

rogue 11-30-2008 07:14 AM

The bike looks really good with the fork swap! :dthumb:

Rider 12-01-2008 10:12 AM

Looks good man.

ceo012384 12-01-2008 11:47 AM

Looks much better.

But you should see if your buddy will swap cailpers with you. The gold pots in yours are ugly and that gold doesn't match the wheels, either. My bike and your buddys bike have silver pots in the calipers. Go for those and your shit will be tits.

ceo012384 12-01-2008 11:49 AM

Also why is there so much fork sticking out of your triples? Mine are flush with the triple... the R6 is twitchy enough as it is, I wouldn't drop it... if anything I might raise my triple about 5mm, one racer told me he did that and it helped...

Maybe yours is a bit different though? :idk:

The fork tubes are longer on the '09s, that's why they're sticking through. They all come like that from the factory. The handling on the '09s is better than '06.

Nothing wrong with that. But there's a difference to being a straight shooter and taking a simple "not really my thing" comment so seriously. LOL

He doesn't sugar coat anything cause he's afraid he'll get sugar in his mangina and it will give him a rash... don't mind him!

If that doesn't work... don't worry he'll offer to kill you!

There's a few of us 'tell it like it is' guys on this forum... DLIT is one of them... One of these days we'll all get together and I'm pretty sure we'll tell 3/4 of you fucks to fuckoff.
