TWF Mobile
Trip, I love you... :dthumb:
that is all |
lol, just found it? It works great on BB storm OS .86
Still has some bugs, but now that I have a way to test it, I can work on it. Still got to get femmes adapted to it right. |
I'm on a crackberry Pearl 8120 OS 4.3. something
It works great. Of course, I haven't tried to blow it up yet  |
I surf the TWF all night at work on my blackjack. :idk:
What was the problem with yours, Zoomie? |

Half the surfing I do on this site seems to be from my Storm, even if I'm at home. Excellent job on the mobile site Trip. Oh, and slightly off topic: http://www.slacker.com There's a Storm version coming soon. Slacker fuckin ownz.

How does one find this? Or do I literally just scan the site on my Storm?
|
One more thing: where do you keep your phone during the day? Do you have a case or a holster or something like that? I had a problem about two weeks into owning the phone where my battery would die during a 12 hour shift at work. I wasn't using the phone at all, just checking the time every now and then, and I noticed the battery would be drained by about the 8 hour mark. At the time I just threw the phone in my pocket, no case or cover or anything. from sitting down, the pants would push the screen into my leg and keep clicking the screen through the night. So I bought a generic case that was marketed for iPhones and Blackberrys. The phone fit in nice and snug, but the problem got worse because it would hold the screen button down for extended periods of time. So the battery would be completely fucking dead in about 6 or 7 hours. I ended up buying a Storm specific holster that protects the screen and puts the phone into holster mode. Battery's back up to decent levels. Nowhere near the complete powerhouse of the Curve battery, but acceptable.
|
Got any good recommendations for covers? I need one for the screen before it gets too scratched up.

Slacker works for the BB already, it's not storm specific, but it works. Quote:

The plastic screen covers are alright - but the phone condoms suck ass. |

Edited to add: if you're looking for a new screen protector film, look for the ones used to protect the PSP screen. They're generally larger, so you'll have to cut them down, but you can find them on buy.com and other places for 2 bucks, rather than the 9 or 10 bucks they want for the same film cut down for the Storm screen. |
I post all the time with the iPhone and twf works well on it.

Thanks, I thought the phone had a protective film on it but I was obviously wrong. Any tips for trying to buff out any of the minor scratches I have on there now? |

Hey corey, here is the link to the slacker I am using. It works but it's not for storm, you can't click the screen you have to swipe to get it to move to the options, but it works.

.86 is destroying my battery. With the radio off and gps off and the thing in lock mode sitting on my desk, I went from 100% to 70% in 3 hours. I love this OS, I just can't make do with charging it every 6 hours.

You could try some of the random shit that seems to fix a Blackberry: 1. Battery pull 2. Check your file free and make sure you're not down on memory 3. Clear out your message folders and call logs I know when the phone is down on memory it does some funky ass shit. Maybe it's eating battery life too. It's a long shot, but shit, you're getting killed on battery life from somewhere. |
I'm happy with the Symbian OS on my Nokia E71... havent had any issues with it at all... and I get atleast 10 hrs of battery life with wifi and bluetooth connected.... I use it for my 'personal' web surfing while i'm at work. without the wifi, 3g, and BT constantly going. i can go a few days without charging
|
Wiped the phone, reinstalled .86 OS, still killing the battery lost 10% in one hour just sitting on the desk in lock mode. Wiped the phone again, back to .75 OS. Hopefully battery life is back to normal, if not off to the Verizon store I go tomorrow to demand a new battery.
|
I am on version .75 and yet when I try to update the phone it says no updates available. Jesus this thread makes me feel like a complete technology retard.

Ahh in that case, I will stick to what I have. :D I just know that I would update it and then my phone just magically break in half with no insurance. *Sigh*

Ok. So flame if you must, but I'm new to the mobile browser world. Do I go to the regular url from by bb to reap the benefits of the mobile site, or is it another url? I've tried the site in the past using the standard url, and it is such a mess I don't do it anymore.
Thanks! |

back to OS .86, found out it might be weatherbug killing my battery, so I deleted that app and giving .86 another try.

i have a blackberry pearl on verizon btw. isn't it slow? another forum i'm on opened a WAP.... as in like wap.twowheelfix.com.... shit's awesome and fast. |
all it is, is another skin that is a lite skin. It doesn't display most images and it should automatically find that you are surfing on twfix and changeover. The iphone and bb storm both work with it once you login to the site. I don't know about other phones.
