Ducs are running strong I see, but good for Yamaha! :dthumb:

Sounds like the makings of a great 09 season. Good on Ben Spies. I don't think running against Mladin every weekend got him the credit as a rider he deserved. WSBK is about to be served by an American!:zowned:

JK 02-23-2009 09:55 PM

whats great about spies so far is that he has no prior experience on these tracks. hes doing well :)

Yamerhaw 02-24-2009 06:03 PM

GO Spies, GO Neukirchner!

Rsv is doing great for a brand new design :D

smileyman 02-27-2009 05:48 PM

Reports say it has been terribly hot there so tire choice and wear will play a big part. Since they are on the same brand and there are limited compounds to choose from clever race strategy and/or the machine/rider best able to put the power down smoothly will see them at the front come finish time!

Not really a shocker...In 290+ races in WSBK, Haga has been on the pole 6 times...

However, he's less than 1 second off the lead time, so it's not really that big of a deal..

-The RSV looks like its doing well, we'll see race time. Go Nakano!
-Look at all the fucking Kawi's in the bottom of the barrel, i thought this 10 was good? :panic:

spies is the fucking man for surviving that

Mr Lefty 03-01-2009 05:05 PM

hey fucktards use the spoiler tags if your talking about the race results...

Trip 03-01-2009 05:07 PM

Do not post results or anything about results in threads without spoiler tags in the title, this thread has the potential to turn into that even though it has already aired on speed, use spoiler tags if you want to discuss results.

edit: spoiler tags added, reopened.

Quick thought about Spies' race 2 win, not only did he stay up front, but he saved his tires and watched haga, then passed him when he was sure haga had nothing left for him. i know hes a wsbk rookie but this isnt is first rodeo. he deffinately looked in control.

Rider 03-02-2009 08:51 AM

At the end of the first race Spies was running 2 seconds a lap faster than Haga and Neukirchner. That R1 is fast as fuck. It's a shame he got run off the track in the first lap. He got no points and was by far the fastest bike out there at the end of the race.

first race was wet tho. might go towards explaining how he was so fast midpack in traffic

Kick ass racing. On a side note the spoiler tags even work in mobile.

race one was great...race 2 is way better... WSS was insane...enjoy :D

DAMN.... this is why i like SBK. A six way battle with 8 to go. You'd never see that in MotoGP. You'd have Rossi and Stoner 2 seconds ahead.....

Oh and thx for the feed Trip!

Porkchop 03-02-2009 03:13 PM

Trip where did you get that wmp file? My friend didnt get to see race one either and needs the file.

Thanks

t-homo 03-02-2009 05:23 PM

I downloaded both of the races from torrents. Thanks Alex for that website.

Spies as always IS THA MAN!! yeah he'd probably one the first one too, if it wasnt for his off track mishap

t-homo 03-03-2009 11:29 PM

He finished in what? 16? After falling pretty far behind the pack after his run-off. Incredible rider.

Dave 03-03-2009 11:34 PM

the guy is a machine

I agree...the wife and I were watching Race 2 lastnight and said the same thing. I watched most all of MotoGP last year and only some WSB and I now am beginning to like WSB more.

I will continue to watch both and some AMA as well but WSB is winning me over.

Mr Lefty 03-04-2009 09:30 AM

mishaps? speed sucks so we only saw like 10 laps total... all I saw was the first corner where he was stood up by looked like Biagi (who was stood up too)

They only showed Spies going off the second time the during the highlights at the end of the race...but I did notice him drop in the standing.

Mr Lefty 03-04-2009 11:08 AM

speed is ghey.... fuck speed... I'd rather download the race a day or two later than watch speeds coverage... EVER.

Rsv1000R 03-04-2009 11:23 AM

The RSV looks fast enough, but I'm guessing it or Max was hard on the tires.

smileyman 03-04-2009 11:57 AM

Max pushes a front harder than any other rider I have ever seen. He will get his set up right eventually but he is handicapped in that he only knows one way to go fast. Champions know how to go fast with almost any set up deficiency or problem they encounter...

Mr Lefty 03-04-2009 12:13 PM

Max has always been a win it or bin it type

DLIT 03-04-2009 02:24 PM

WSBK is the series to watch, for sure. I just read an article about the Golden Era of MotoGP, late 80s, early 90s. When it was truly an edge-of-your-seat watching experience, very much unlike today.

Yup. He was riding the Marlboro sponsored YZR 500 2 stroker that way in GPs aways back. Had plenty of low sides chasing Rossi. He never learned any other style but did get better at setting up his bikes for his style. If he had more of a repetoire he would have been a champion in something other than the 250s...
