Dream Rides

whats a ride you wish you could do (ride the ring, or maybe a ride to the western united states to hit the california coast line) and would you take your current bike or would it involve a dead sexy exotic ride?

personally, my dream ride would be to go from TN to Bisbee, AZ and back with PC for a week, take your time, no rush, and just enjoy the road and company

m0n1 03-18-2008 01:41 PM

would love to hit the dragon, but with young kids, and fairly new job, kinda hard to get away for a decent road trip.

NONE_too_SOFT 03-18-2008 01:44 PM

europe.

stockholm swe, amsterdamn, then through the UK, to ireland, back down to paris, france, then to the southern coast on the medditeranian in marseille, follow the coast to barcelona, espania, straight to madrid, then end up at Gibraltar.

Rider 03-18-2008 01:47 PM

My dream rid would be to ride from here to the southern tip of South America and back. No I wouldn't take my current ride, I'd take a BMW GS1150 or a KTM 990 Adventure. Maybe even a 990 Super Duke.

Hmmmmm... the ring, yes, yes, yes....

But I would also looooove to just go back to SoCal, ride the coast, the mountains, and really just tool around the areas where I grew up. Growing up there, I never had an appreciation for just how fun the roads are there; now when I go back, I'm like "WHOAH, this would be so much fun on the bike...." :D

I'd say not necessarily on some exotic, but not necessarily on my current bike either. I'd want it to be a bike I was already well acquainted with, though - I mean, let's face it, I live in FL, so twisties and good roads aren't something I've got much experience with. So for an extended tour of the West Coast, I'd want a bike I was already comfortable with.

....and of course, after watching an episode of "Trippin' on Two Wheels," touring Ireland on a Sprint ST looks amazing. :D

Mr Lefty 03-18-2008 10:06 PM

ALL over europe... hit the Ring... hit up the Isle of Mann... take that ride through Chernoble (sp?) the Alps... EVERY FUCKING WHERE

t-homo 03-18-2008 10:27 PM

Right now I would love to go to the gap. No matter where it would be on either a Tesi 3D or a benelli caferacer.

No Worries 03-18-2008 10:31 PM

Guided tour of New Zealand on a Busa. Our winter, their summer. Trip of a lifetime, Bucket List, etc. I wanted to do it this winter, but other things came up.

Gas Man 03-18-2008 10:55 PM

I would like to ride the PCH from SoCal to Washington. I now know alot of people out there and would like to meet some of them. I would prefer to do it on my bike but would settle for a HD ultra classic or similar.

OneSickPsycho 03-18-2008 11:30 PM

The Gap, the track, and a dozen places I've still never heard of.

ceo012384 03-18-2008 11:57 PM

Nürburgring Nordschleife. Laguna Seca a close second.

There's a new sponsor out in Cali that will host at least one track day at Laguna this year. It's very possible I could go.

Drewp, you know if you try to upload your avatar again, using the same file as the first one, it'll get bigger, right?

dReWpY 03-19-2008 05:47 PM

fnfalman 03-19-2008 07:31 PM

I'd like to run through the Alps on my Tuono. Roughing it through South America on my KTM Adventure. Do the United States on my Beemer.

Taken by a friend who spent last summer conducting tours for Bob Beach in Europe.......that's right, he spent THE WHOLE SUMMER RIDING.......EVERY DAY.......IN THE ALPS............GETTING PAID FOR IT...........

lauralynne 03-20-2008 07:11 PM

Anywhere all the time.

I love the Long Way Round movie but not sure I've got the whereforall to pull something like that off.

We've talked about shipping the bikes to Europe and spending 3 weeks just riding where ever....

We're also planning to ride up through Canada into Alaska (one of the few states I've never been to!)

That's fucking sick. You have to do it. I can't wait to hear how slow you had to go through the corkscrew the first few times because you were so fucking scared. And for once, I'm not saying that to be a dick. I'd do it to.

About the highside... since it's a downhill drop, you're much more likely to lowside... sorry to burst your bubble. If you try hard it might work though.
