Spoiler AMA California Speedway 21 Mar 09
Mladin won Superbike. Some dude on #9 Buell 1125R won Daytona Superbike. That Buell ran strong and that dude did a great job keeping in front of everybody. Aprilia had one DNF and the other one by Chaz Davies the British dude finished #8. WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!
|
So where are these races being shown?! Missed the first race and I cannot find anywhere that these races are shown. :panic:
|
I looked but could not find it on the speed channel
|
AHHHHHH! :panic: I am so frustrated! :panic: I did not even realize they were racing there this weekend. :panic: I could have gone to the race. :tt:
I am also bummed because this is a track I know so well since I got to take my car there not long ago. :td: |
Just found this...
http://www.amaproracing.com/rr/event...eid=2009010910 They will be showing the FIRST race NEXT Sat! :panic: And race 2 APRIL FOURTH! :panic: Assholes. Everyone at SPEED. :tt: |
What is the best site for downloading AMA races?

It is supposed to shock us that an 1125cc motocycle won by over 6 seconds when racing 600s?
|
SPEED needs to get their heads so far out of hickbillie bumpercar's ass. (aka NASCAR)
Their following the money i guess...:panic: |
Sunday is more or less a repeat of Saturday with the #9 Buell won again.
Say what you want, Danny Boy can ride that Buell. You don't see Higsbee winning anything, right? I was rooting for Aprilia, but it's refreshing to see another brand took dominance; at least for this one weekend, other than the typical Japanese fours. |
I raced with Danny in the CMRA. Kids a phenom!
|
Go Buell!
|
I agreed with Buell having their fun:pat:, especially after having to live with stigma of a Harley engine for so long, but an 1125cc Austrian liquid cooled 4 valver against 600cc liquid cooled four valvers just doesn't seem fair:idk:

So what is the difference in the two bikes that allow it to be able to run in both classes ? I mean Ducati can't enter a 1125 in the smaller class, right ? It just doesn't make sense to me that Aprillia...Ducati and Buell can run the larger engines against the smaller inline fours. It even seems a little odd that Triumph can run a 675 in this class but at least that's closer. :idk: AMA racing is just weird since the change in ownership....but hey...I'm just glad they are still racing. |
Comparable liter twins make about the same hp as a 600 I4, it's a matter of valve area. The twin will make more torque, but they also get a 20 lb weigh penalty (subject to increases based on performance).

Inline 4's 365 lbs. 675 375 lbs. 848 375 lbs. (I think) Aprilia 385 lbs. Buell 385 lbs. |
Hell Danny Eslick outweighs Disalvo by at least that much...Is the weight w/rider or without??

You know I hate to say it...But the racing was pretty tight, even with the disparity in rules. If a rider can't make up 20 lbs with 525 more cc well he isn't much of a rider.
Hacking and Disalvo are a couple of the best, most experienced guys. Hell Hacking held his own last year on the Kawi MotoGP bike at Laguna, was the only one to race with Spies and Mladin in 08...If he has a hard time passing the 1125 in the straights and is making it all up in the corners the rules just aint fair.... |

Yeah but those long straights have the engines revved out at top speed and a good draft...I think that would mask the differences somewhat. I mean at that speed you have aero to consider and the bikes gearing, I don't see as how top speed would be so different.
However the extra 525 cc would show up on acceleration the most I think. As I said before it is curious the bikes are so close considering how different they are, but I still would take the 525 extra cc and 20 lbs if it were my fight. |
