BMW - Broke My Wallet

I just spent $700 replacing the window regulator on the driver's side of my Z4. Motherfucker!!!

In all practicality, I should have just said fuck it and drive the car with the window about 2" low from the top. It's not like I don't have another fully functional car. But goddammit, I can't stand it when my shits are not mechanically fine.

the chi 04-29-2009 06:10 PM

Isnt that a brand new car?

Homeslice 04-29-2009 06:24 PM

One of the best-looking cars on the road, IMO..........no matter what the anti-Bangle fags say.

I suspect not. If it was I would think it would be covered under either the warranty or the free maintenance plan.

Sixxxxer 04-29-2009 06:27 PM

M6 is New...Z4 is not

No. But the bitches at that dealership are pretty hot though. And I drank about five bottles of Perrier and ate some fancy cookies while waiting.

101lifts2 04-29-2009 10:27 PM

If you bought a Chevy the regulator would have been cheaper.

bitch is going on sale as soon as I get back from the rally and get it back from the repair shop (someone backed into my door)

Ehhh...hit or miss I guess. My co-worker owns a Versa with now 45k miles. I'm quite impressed with the car. Ride quality, build quality, engine smoothness, fuel economy and looks.

If I were you, I'd look into a Ford Ranger...3.0L with a stick. Hella cheap too.

JoJoYZF 04-29-2009 11:27 PM

Fn, I thought you were giving the z to your niece and just going to have the m6? I mean, if that fell through you could always donate it to me...

I was, but she's being stupid right now so no reward for stupidity. And frankly, how can I be in southern California without a convertible?

BobTheBiker 04-30-2009 03:31 AM

RACER X 04-30-2009 07:58 AM

FNL, was that cost, parts and labor, if so could you break it down?

That was everything out the door. Labor is about 3-4 hours, so figure maybe average of $90/hr labor. I've had it quoted between a couple of different dealerships in different states and a couple of independent Bimmer shops and the costs were pretty much the same so I said fuck it and took it to the dealer since that it'll have factory warranty on the parts and dealership warranty on the labor if something goes wrong within a month or so.

But you'd have to drive a Chevy all the time. Expensive repairs only happen every so often.

I'll take the risk of expensive repairs.

So you'd rather get stuck with a BMW than drive a Chevy?

That's not a choice I need to make, since I have no expectation that my BMW will leave me stranded. :idk:
