Hey Marko

It's here... when ya gonna get yours??

#1871 off the Wisconson assembly line. Built March of 08, purchased march of 08. :dthumb:

Picked it up this morning, haven't had a chance to get it out yet.
Can't find my fucking camera either.

Ride report once it warms up and the streets clear off.

Pics once I find my camera.

marko138 03-28-2008 04:45 PM

You bastard. Congrats.

Cutty72 03-28-2008 04:47 PM

Thanks...
Spoke to the Regional Buell Service Manager while I picked it up.
He had 2 pieces of advice for me
-Keep it above 3000 RPM's
-Ride it like ya stole it.

About any other question was answered with "don't worry, the bike can take it" :nana2:

marko138 03-28-2008 04:56 PM

 Great advice. Get some pics up asap.

Cutty72 03-28-2008 11:42 PM

Ya he was cool shit.
Told me he had to take it for a spin as a "quality control" check.
He just loves the bike!
That fucking front end is LIGHT though. Hit 6K and UP she comes.

Instant MPG display... I've seen high side of 39, and low of 14.
This could be interesting.

Trip 03-28-2008 11:44 PM

Nice cutty, we need pics now.

Cutty72 03-28-2008 11:56 PM

Ok, here ya go
Crappy cell phone pic, but it will have to get ya by until I figure out where the gf hid my camera.

um, cause it's 30 degrees, the roads are sandy and icy, and its about to start rain/snowing.

That and I have to work tomorrow.

I had to laugh at the service manager.
He "suggested" I bring it to them for all the major services. so 620 miles, and 1200 miles, and then every 3000 after that.
It's 100 miles one way to the dealership. Figured if I did that, I'd be in twice a week for the first couple!

Well... found it. She was carrying it around in her purse for some stupid reason.
But now I am here at work, the bike is at home.
SO... depending on weather, and lighting, hopefully tonight/tomorrow.

jalaan1 03-29-2008 10:47 AM

sorry...

ok, no I'm not.
I love it for all 40 miles I've put on it!!
Shakes a lot though, kinda supprised me.
but i love the torque. Can't wait for a little warmer weather, and cleaner streets!!!

If/when you do buy one, watch the dealers. I've heard a lot charging OVER MSRP for them. I got mine for $12,100 OTD. Free T-shirt and oil change materials. Hopefully gonna hook me up with a service manual when they become available too.

marko138 03-29-2008 03:30 PM

I would sleep on it.

Cutty72 03-29-2008 03:31 PM

umm, it's not THAT comfortable

probably because she learned her lesson when you guys went to sit on one the other day and didn't have a camera...

so I see your keeping her in the main garage and not back where the SV was

Of course I am... it's about riding time now, why would I put it back in the storage area??
The toys are only in the back when hibernating. Hopefully we'll get the SV out tomorrow...

Pics are almost uploaded.

Ok, got 'em in photo bucket.
Remember, I'm no pro photographer, and have a rather old camera...
First, a teaser.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...125rnew074.jpg

The display.
Has outside and coolant temp, battery level, instant MPG, or total average MPG. pretty sweet. it's got 55 miles on it now.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...125rnew063.jpg

Photo idea stolen from ebbs, but mine didn't get a flat and tip over

It was getting pretty dark, so that's all I got

Also, if they seem a bit blury, it could be because of the 40 mph winds we have right now.

It would be less blurry if there hadn't been a 40 mph cross wind!!

and mine also have a town in the background.

And now all of you that have never been to ND know what the scenery looks like on the East half of the state.

The land in which you can watch your dog run away for three days...

That's awesome Cutty... It looks better in those pictures than it does in a lot of the motorcycle mags and whatnot... Still not crazy about the Darth Vadering it gives off...

Now resize your fucking sig pic... it's jacking up threads.

How you figure?
It's not any wider than the normal screen???

And I see no one still has made a new exhaust for the 1125. I don't mind the look, but I want it louder.

fits my screen perfect :idk: I do have a wide screen but so does OSP...

you should just drill out the rivets and gut the exhaust :dthumb: I'll give ya a hand in Sept if you haven't done it by then

Still wider than my screen... :idk:

If you want exhaust, talk to Odie at Special Ops... He's got my can right now... Not sure if he's fucked with an 1125 yet, but it's possible he'd be interested in trying!

Rider 03-31-2008 08:43 AM

Congrats...

Cutty72 04-02-2008 11:26 AM

Took it for a quick spin last night, as I had it out of the garage to rearrange anyway.
The lights seem pretty decent, even on high ebbs PIAA's were better, so I'm going to try adjusting them up a bit to get more distance out of them. Then follow a friend to be sure they aren't TOO blinding.

ceo012384 04-08-2008 02:36 AM

Pics don't do it justice. Almost everyone says they look better in real life.

Ill definitely second that. Pretty comfortable and look a hell of a lot better in person.

Once I go home and the Harley dealer has one I am definitely going to go check it out and sit on it.

I thought it looked like ass in the pics. Now I am sooo sold on it. It's just wicked. The nice thing is the turn signals!!!!!!!! I can actually see them on this bike. The SV I would never have any idea where he was going.

Cutty72 04-10-2008 05:54 PM

Well... they have another option for exhaust for the 1125.
Not cheap though.
Think it equals about $1200 :panic:

No thanks. While quiet, the stocker looks much better than the current aftermarket options.

What say you, Cutty?

For $200... i would consider it until better options were available. for $1200... plus another $130 or so to get it to the states... that fucker is ugly, no chance in hell. I do think it's better than the D&D, but still not pretty.

Still waiting on Drummer or Special Ops to put one out.
Odie figured by mid summer he'd have one figured out. No word on when Drummer will release one yet.

I'm sure it looks better... but I just don't like the front. I know it.

Cutty72 04-14-2008 10:47 AM

OK, finally got it out to actually RIDE.
Put about 100 miles on yesterday.
This thing MOVES!!! Still breaking it in... but it hits 96mph in 6th gear at 6K, and gets there quick.
It loves corners, just start to lean and it just goes over!
twist the throttle and it pulls out like crazy.
I learned that I need to get smoother with my low speed on/off throttle control, but other than that this thing is awesome.
The one downfall is it does not like to be below 3500 EVER.
Trying to cruise at 55 mph in 6th is at 3200, and it's not real smooth.

Did have 2 minor issues with it however.
1. died at every stop, unless I would blip the throttle when I pulled in the clutch

2. Check engine light came on a couple times through the day, no apparent reason.

Dealer is picking it up on Wed, so we'll see what happens then.
Hopefully I can get it back quick and it is nothing major!

I was the same way with the smoothness on/off the throttle when I got my bike... I realized that it's just a new bike thing... Sorta like when you drive a different car... I experience the same thing. Start playing with hard braking, you'll see similar results.
