Pazzo's have arrived!

1 Attachment(s)
My Pazzo's came yesterday. I've wanted a set for a while now. But just didn't have the cash. Well, I found a set on a Buell forum for a price I couldn't pass up.

They are black shorties with gold adjusters. Ideally I would have liked it the other way around...gold levers with black but...:idk:...The price was right.

It was pouring here yesterday so this googled pic will have to do:

z06boy 06-11-2009 02:56 PM

Very sweet !! I want those with either gold or red adjusters or the CRG's but just can't swing it right now.

They are gonna look killer on the Buell. Hopefully it's not raining in 2 hours when I get off work. Then I can install these bad boys.

the chi 06-11-2009 03:10 PM

Sweet, cant wait to see them installed. Thats gonna look super sharp.

Rider 06-11-2009 03:11 PM

I think the black with gold adjusters will look better than gold with black adjusters. They only take 5 mins to install. Gets some pics posted when you can.

marko138 06-11-2009 03:12 PM

I also installed new pegs last week. An inch lower peg from the Lightning...while more comfortable...still kills me to be on this thing for more than 20 minutes.

I've got gold Buell levers on it now. I love the way they look. But, like I said, the price was right.

CrazyKell 06-11-2009 04:30 PM

We must be living parallel lives!

I ordered pazzo's last week (local group buy) and just got a set of black shorties with gold adjusters. Installing them next week....can't wait!

 Nice. I'm installing mine tonight....but, sadly, I'm not gonna have time for a ride. Roads are wet...and I have packing to do.

Cutty72 06-11-2009 07:14 PM

Nice grab man.

Dave 06-12-2009 02:37 AM

you do know they make those in italy right? nice pickup though

Alright, got them installed yesterday. 10 minute job.

And also my Lightning pegs I put on last weekend. They are an inch lower than the Firebolt pegs.

Rider 06-12-2009 08:20 AM

I personally like the black levers better.

An inch lower on the pegs? Does it make a big difference? I had factory adjustable pegs on my gsxr and it didn't really mater but the difference was less than an inch up/down or forward/back.

I was fond of the gold...but the black is a solid look. I like it. The pegs, I can tell a difference...but I still cramp up after about 20 or 30 minutes.

More so than on the zuke?

marko138 06-12-2009 09:10 AM

Zuk was about 15 minutes. The Buell is more comfortable...but my back and knees suck.

I really love this bike, I dont want to get rid of it. But it's tough to ride. My options are get a Lightning with the higher bars and more upright position or get the XR1200.

CrazyKell 06-12-2009 09:19 AM

Levers look great! Can't wait to get mine put on.

Nice!:rockwoot: Question; do the new levers have a steel pivot bushing ? Please don't be offended but if they don't, you might want to consider drilling and installing one. Just my stupid $.02.

I believe they do not. The stockers have a little bushing in the pivot hole...but it doesn't fit in the pazzo's.

t-homo 06-12-2009 10:52 AM

Congrats dude. Looks sharp.

marko138 06-12-2009 10:54 AM

Now if only I had the 09 Firebolt. Blacked out everything on those, forks, engine.

Example:

Oh, and look at that...they come stock with black levers.

Well, I'm gonna leave it alone because you'd have to drill the Pazzo hole to fit the bushing. I am not trying to start anything, honestly, I've just had a minor bad experience with levers without bushings. No biggie! BTW again no offense but I'd ASSume that you used grease when you reassembled them right? Just asking....

No offense taken. I'm not much for drilling the levers. I'll take my chances I guess.

Pazzo's come with a packet of lithium grease. Enough to last for 2 or 3 applications.

Gas Man 06-12-2009 03:19 PM

I see a bike change by next year!

Maybe. I won't rule it out. But I won't commit to that either. All depends, I could walk into a dealer next week and cruise out on something new. Just depends.

Gas Man 06-12-2009 03:21 PM

Go check it out... best time of the year to sell

In alot of ways it is appearance. But the adjustability is awesome. It was a mod I wanted to do for a long time...but the price is steep. Just keep looking for a good deal if you want a set.

And the rotor is AWESOME.

marko138 06-29-2009 09:18 AM

Put about 150 miles on with the Pazzo's this weekend. Initial thoughts...

They look incredible. Love that. They feel wierd. At this point, I prefer the feel of the stock levers. But I'm sure I'll get used to them. The Buell has an insanely stiff clutch, these short levers only made it stiffer. So much so that I have a massive pain in my left hand. This is no joke. So my next mod is a $35 Clutchlite EZpull. I'll be going xsoft.

Also...the point where the clutch disengages has moved farther out, allowing for two finger jones on the shifting. Good and bad on that. Good b/c it's how I used to ride. Bad b/c I have to get used to it again. And I think I need to adjust my clutch...needs just a touch more free play.

Gas Man 06-29-2009 12:52 PM

Clutch lever free play should hold a dime in the pinch point.

I don't have quite that much...it def needs a touch of adjustment. And an oil change, and a brake fluid change, and the HID put in it. Wife has me working on the house...can't find time for MC maintenence.

yeah if you are having a hard time with the clutch move the point out so you just have to barely touch the clutch to engage it.

With the stock the clutch disengaged as soon as it came away from the bar. I got used to it that way and like it. I just gotta get used to the new set up.

Gas Man 06-29-2009 12:58 PM

But on the buell, I believe allot of that is going to be in the ball ramp assembly not the freeplay.

If you have the forks off the bike, you might as well do the seals and bushings.

Gas Man 06-30-2009 02:21 PM

That's what I'm saying.. but that depends on milage of bike.

marko138 06-30-2009 02:27 PM

I should be approaching 10k service by then...so might as well do it all.

Gas Man 06-30-2009 02:30 PM

at 10k you need to do seals and bushings.

No idea yet. They are back in Session at the end of September...so I'll be working probably until you get out here...then take off as needed.
