Haga out for three months.
Handed the season to spies.
Haga is one of my favourite racers, and just when its all going for him, boom, bad luck again. http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2009/Jun/090628d.htm |
dude that sucks, i was wanting to see the battle to the end.

It's a little early for this kind of rumor mongering especially considering the fact that the article first states that Haga has a fractured vert. and then turns around and says that a scan shows that he doesn't. :idk: In any case, they guessed a month- 3 months but it wouldn't surprise me if he tried to race the next round in Brno next month. http://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/late...-for-haga.html In any case, barring anymore Yamaha gremlins, Spies should be able to take advantage of this situation and possibly be the first person to ever win the WSBK championship in his rookie season!!!:rockwoot: |
no, theres another article on the soup. Apparently his wrist is badly broken, and his collar bone too. nSays docs figure three months, and the spinal injury is an old injury thats been bothered a bit.

I guess the wrist is broken. Find out tomorrow for sure. |

Still don't give up just yet. If Haga can salvage some points in Brno and not have to miss both races, he still has a good chance with 4 rounds left after that. Considering that there is almost a month in between all of the next rounds, he has lots of time to heal and get stronger. Besides, with the way it's been going for Spies, it's not a done deal yet for sure!!! |
fuck, i hope Haga wins it. I really want him to. But I imagine spies will slow down a bit to keep it on two wheels if haga does end up out for 2+ months, to take back some points.
We just gotta hope his techs mess up badly, and haga does have a nice cushion. But it was eaten away at a little in the second race already. |

His wreck looked pretty bad today. He was also injured going into it, correct?

You would rather have Haga win by DNF's than be the faster man? You Haga freaks are too much. Seems like no one cares how Haga wins this championship, as long as he does. You all just can't accept the fact that Ben is much faster. |

In fact, I can't stand it when someone is hoping that a racer will LOSE a championship. Yeah, Yeah... it will be remembered who WON the series, and it won't matter HOW it was won. But, it's like scratching on the eight-ball when shooting pool. Sure the other person wins, but it's by you losing knowwhatImean?? Whatever the injuries found - heal quickly and completely Haga!! |
If Nori never wins a championship, he'll always be my favorite to watch of all time. He might be done for this year, but he's not done.
|
time to call Dr Costa... figure he'll cut that down to 3weeks

Wow, my internet is fast at night. I downloaded round 2 up to present of wsbk between 1 am and 8 am. MotoGP, here we come. Maybe 250cc next!

You guys are acting like Haga hasnt earned his position at the top of the points ladder. He's beaten spies on multiple occasions, and done a better job at keeping his bike on the track. Spies might be faster on some tracks, but Haga is the smarter racer. He did also beat spies in round one, did he not.
Even if he'd stayed on two wheels a little more, the championship would be very very close. And like tigger said, no hayden fan can complain about how someone else wins a championship. |
I want Spies to win it but I was hoping it would be done by beating Haga and Fabrizio on the track.
I haven't seen the crash but have it on DVR. I knew Spies won both races and knew Haga crashed but didn't know how bad it was. Quote:

I am a Hayden fan, does this mean I have no valid opinion? Please find ANY post I've ever made complaining how someone wins a championship? I like good racing, regardless of who wins. I think Pedrosa is a little twerp, but it still doesn't change the fact that he hauls ass on occasion! |

is it wrong that after biaggi crashed i wanted haslam to win so i could check out his fiancee's rack again? :lmao:

Am finishing watching the race now. That crash looked like it hurt like hell. I would like to see Ben win it but with good hard racing, not the misfortune of another racer. |

Fuuuuck those trucks are horrible. If that's his girl she has to be about 46 by now because those mini truck pics were taken back in 1976...

Even if Haga races at Brno, he won't be able to hang with Ben. With only a 14 point deficit, I see Ben recapturing the points lead for good after the Brno race.
Ducati has nothing to be ashamed of. They have had a great season. As far as Haga staying at Yamaha.. No, moving to Ducati was a great move. I'm not knocking the power of the Yamaha, but Ben could be competitive on a ninja 250. Haga could not be where he is in the points if he was still at Yamaha. |
Quote:
Yea Haga is a great racer and he was robbed of the title a few years back but I don't think that he's a match for Spies. If they were on like machinery, this title would already be in the bag! |
haga may not be a match for spies but his overall record in finishes is still greater. And dont discount fabrizio and the others. Couple of guys have been showing lately that they can stay with ben, passing him is another story of course
|
hey tiggs i took another closer look at those gals now that im out of the office  only one it could be is the second one. Or shes the closest anyway

ok from some careful digging around (and accidentally finding a picture of leon 90% naked ) ive come to the conclusion that it IS the second girl. Looks like she is quite a bit older than him as she was doing glamour modeling pre 1980. Still pretty cute though, truck girl is a diff chick entirely

1.) Haga being beat by someone from the Yamaha factory after he ditched them for a Ducati. 2.) The Japanese fans and Yamaha factory laughing since he ditched a Japanese bike for an Italian bike but ends up getting beat by someone on the very type of Japanese bike that he left behind. You are correct....Ducati has nothing to be ashamed of if they don't win the championship...their bikes rock. |

I'm glad surgery went well. I hope he recovers enough that it won't come into play and the championship is won or lost ON the track. What's funny - why was there no love lost for Ducati last year? I'm ever more convinced the only role the bike plays is whether it runs or stays together or not. But, the RIDER wins the championship. Example - if Rossi would have had a running bike with tires that stayed together would Hayden have won the championship? Example - if Spies would have had a running bike would Haga being in or out be an issue? |

True! I think they all go through a little of that though... I remember some questionable Rossi passes in the past. Heck, there was this wet race back when he was a rookie in the big show, where he must have crashed at least 3 times!!! |
Quote:
Crashes aside, you can't deny technical issues have added 2 or 3 occurances of 0 point finishes to his season, doubling any damage he's done on his own. One incident turned 25 points into 0 at the final turn. Spies fan or not, that's significant. |

this sux, I like Haga as a former ducati owner. I do cheer Spies as an American favorite, but with Haga out it diminishes the competitiveness.
