2010 Hayden edition duc 848

Ok, they have a guy who won a championship and has fought for one the last year and this year, and one who was given a championship and can barely break 10th. And they make a special edition for the rider who cant break 10th.:skep: :lol
It is a nice ride though. It just that I wouldnt be flaunting the parade rider when they've got a fast, talented champ on the team. Even if it is Ducati NA, the people who buy Ducati's arent buying em because of the Kenlucky Kid. And I still think the plain white 848's are the nicest bikes ever made. |

mmmmmmmm......

I have seen too many used 848s to even think about buying any of them. Over all impression of them seems to be blah or get a 1198.

I like the paint scheme

I like it too :phat:

It's a bit disprespectful to Troy to give "dem-laydeez" his own replica if you ask me. Save the replicas for riders that are top shelf champions, and that have done something significant for the brand.
|
Sweet bike but like mentioned above, why make a Hayden replica? He hasn't done shit for Duc. I'd rather see a Colin Edwards replica R1.
|
I like it. Wouldn't buy it...but I like it.
|
I like solid colors better on the Duc.

ya, he rode 3rd-5th all season and fell into a championship as most of the field had horriffic seasons marred with mechanical failures, over and over again. I think Rossi had 6dnf's, and was still in contention to beat him at the last race. Nicky hung on for third or fourth after rossi made a mistake and had a championship handed over to him. One win that year? a few podiums, and a title. And has a hard time to stay int he points since. His best finish of this year, a 5th at one of his favourite home tracks. |

Stoner has the personality of a gnome and that's probably why Ducati figure nobody would want to buy a Stoner replica paint job.
Since new developments been made to the GP bike, Hayden had been climbing steadily up, while Stacy Moaner continues to move backward and crying about this and that. |

If you don't like that, don't race competitively because it's not for mastery of a motorcycle, it's for entertainment. Otherwise it wouldn't exist for lack of funding. Hence the point of the bike, the bike wasn't made to praise "Dem Ladiez" accomplishments, it was to sell bikes. |
Quote:
Well that is certainly an interesting perspective. So people watch baseball not for the 38 seconds of super human like fights where a player makes some rediculous catch followed by an amazing off balance throw to nail a double or even triple play? Its just for the entertainment? I watch racing to see guys do feats I will never on my best day be able to do. The office quaterbacking started when some 40yo fat fuck who played 2 quarters of high school football watched a game on CBS and started telling his co-workers how the team coulda/woulda/shoulda. Its disturbing that you even use mediocre and world level in the same breath. The 10th place guy is still better than MOST of the other riders on the entire fucking planet. Its naive and stupid to think that just because a rider is payed by "you" that he should be fighting for a win. And by your logic the grids should really only be about 5 bikes deep. And in some series they would be lucky to be 3 deep. Cause NOBODY else has a snowballs chance of winning. But they are paid professionals and by God they better fucking perform for your entertainment. Otherwise you will get on the interwebby thingy and say bad things about them. |

Not everyone is a winner, you need field fillers to make things entertaining. Watching 3 guys go around a track would be fucking boring and no one would watch it. Field fillers are there for entertainment as well, they still make money for their companies as well because people like to root for the underdog. |

How do you know what he's done or anyone else for that matter? Just because you choose to throw your money away pretending to be Rossi doesn't mean that your opinion is the only one that counts! Let's see all of your championships and MotoGp trophies before you start mouthing off that we don't deserve an opinion and you do. Maybe you aught to get Nicky's balls out of your mouth long enough to take a real look at his career. Every championship Hayden has ever "won" has been behind someone truly great having a terrible season. Do you honestly believe that your boy is a better rider than Rossi? Or Mat Mlladin? Come on! Both times he had unarguably the most dominant bikes and it still required 4-6 dnfs by Rossi/Mlladin for him to win a championship. |
Quote:
Actually Trip, that's a decent analogy. I mean just because I can't design a car means that I can't have an opinion on how it's constructed? How it drives? Handles?:idk: Hell, I'm not an actor, does that mean I can't criticize a movie? |

I saw the Nicky version 848 at Laguna and the pictures don't do the bike justice. It is truly a beautiful paint scheme, fitting for an incredible rider. To bad it's on a duc. :nee:

I dont even dislike Hayden, so im not even biased. He seems like a good kid. Bit of a redneck, but so am I. But people dont wanna swallow their pride and admit his career has been far less than stellar. Damn near 100 races on the best equipment in the world, and 3 wins with a handful of podiums. Biaggi was 10x the racer Hayden is (he's old now), with far more wins, and people questioned his talent. Giberneau won regularly on different equipment, and people question his ability. bayliss won on a wildcard at the last race of a season, and people bitched about him when he rode for Duc in Motogp. Pedrobot is apparently a no talent loser, yet his career has been far more successful than nicky's But haydenpoo can do no wrong. It just puzzles me a little. And Nicky whines as much as any of them! But Hayden has shown that he's good at rding around at the back of the pack, and you guys grovel at the mention of his name. Puzzling... |

So because Nicky is fan friendly he deserves a replica edition? I don't give a shit what he does off the track. On the track he isn't that good compared to the rest of the field. When he start performing as well as Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Stoner, Rossi, or even Divizioso, then I'll buy the idea of a replica. It is Duc's chance to cash in on his fame though.
|
Maybe they're just trying to get more Americans to buy Ducati and thought this would appeal to us ?
His first year on the bike and he's not doing so great so it does suprise me that they would be doing a replica in his name. |
Quote:
And where the fuck are you guys getting on about this "oh, he ran 3-5 all season long.... he slipped into a championship" bullcrap??? Lets see here... 2 wins, 4 seconds, 5 thirds. Thats 11 out of 17 podiums???? Maybe one more if pedro-fag wouldnt have taken him out. And I do believe the point system is intact so that the most consistant rider wins the championship. If you want Vale to win by default by winning the most races and DNF'ing the rest, you guys can go suck F1 and FIA's c**k. Maybe then they will come fuck up one more points system. Has Hayden blown big the past 2.5 years, YES. Does he deserve a replica, NO! |

so when does the starbucks edition come out?

Dude this post is full of, "I'm a racer or he's a racer so he should know" bullshit. You think that because someone spends a couple hundred a weekend club racing that his "perspective" on MotoGp or racing in general is more valid than someone who hasn't. Well, I did some club racing back in the day, NOW is my opinion valid? Hayden and his fans have a bucket load of excuses to explain why he can't win. I love it because I predicted this in an old thread. They are already breaking out the "Ducati developed that bike for Stoner" excuse. I wonder about that, since Casey wasn't their "A" rider when he won his championship... BTW everyone is judged statistically, you're not a great pick up artist if you only fuck one hot chick. Btw I agree that Chad deserved the championships he got but it's the shit that he talks in between the races that makes me dislike him. He won't just acknowledge that Stewart is better than he is. I believe that James is racing a couple outdoors this season, I can't wait to watch him completely smoke Chad Reed. |

Perhaps the folks down under will have a Stoner edition 848 while the USA gets the Nicky version. I'm sure Ducati marketing felt good about this project, it's their money so:?: No one is being forced to buy one.....
|
Quote:
And I agree 100% with your sentiments on Reed. This year James doesn't need to be there. Plenty of other guys are showing him the way. |
I dont put stock in anything Tigger says. Dude is a hot air balloon.

Wow, when did this thread go EPIC??????

How much is that respect worth really? The respect that I would show a athlete for an ability be it natural, environmental, or learned would be very minimal. Showing lack of respect for this ability, wouldn't take much because the level of respect is that of a circus clown that is the best at his job. They aren't US military soldiers risking their lives for our freedom or curing someone of cancer, they are putting on a show to entertain the masses. It's that simple. Respect is minimal at best, so showing a lack of it for statistics would not be outrageous in any means. I don't put the same worth on the ability to ride a motorcycle, so it isn't offensive to discuss the quality of moto gp riders as statistics. |
Quote:
What bike to get is a subjective question full of opinion and conjecture. Who is a better racer is a statistical question easily answered with facts. Example, who's a better racer Hayden or Stoner? Easy Stoner had more wins in 2007 than Hayden has in almost 6 years or racing. Regardless of who you are or what you do, you can't change the facts and Hayden has been sucking it for the past few years period. End of story. This is a matter of fact not opinion. I don't care if you are Agostini, you're "professional" opinion isn't going to change that. In '06 Rossi had 3 DNFs, an 8th, a 13th and a 14th and Nicky still only won the championship by 5 points... Oh and yea the situation with Reed is funny to me, he just won his 1st outdoor race the other day now that Villipoto and Alessi are out! Hahahaha! |
Quote:
Exactly, how else do you "measure" them? Just because you get on the track doesn't mean you can read the boards better than I can... The results are everything in racing IMHO, everything else is smoke and mirrors. Lots of people hate Pedrosa, they say he "stole" Nicky's ride and that he's an asshole or what ever but be that as it may, he still has won more races than Hayden, pure and simple and that is what counts at the end of the day. Whether you or your multiplate having buddy wish to believe that or not. |
Quote:
In racing, you have to consider the equipment and team aspects, as well as the competition they face. Everybody wants to be champion when guys like Schumacher and Rossi are out on the track, not after they retire. A lot of the time, great riders can be hindered by inferior equipment. Hopkins is a good example of a rider that did very well with crappy equipment. Hayden is a good example of a guy that has been on the best equipment from the get go, and has a lot of circumstantial factors surrounding his only good season. The stats won't reflect those kinds of things, and that's why you have to look deeper if you want to get the whole picture. |

Statistics will show who has the best rider/bike combination for sure, I honestly believe that Rossi could win on almost any bike on the grid. A champion takes what he is given and finds a way to win! I actually like Hopper but do you mean to imply that he would be champion if only he had a chance on Ducati, Yamaha or Honda? I doubt it. My guess is that he's not very good at developing a bike which keeps him out of the big leagues. I think that's Nicky's problem as well honestly. I mean he was complaining of "lack of drive" out of the corners the other day...are you serious? The Ducati has a "lack of drive"... |

And by default, I mean illogical. Think about it. (This is purely hypothetical) If Vale wins 9 races and DNF's the other 8 races, and Stoner wins 8 races with 9 other podiums, and Vale wins the championship? How rediculous is that. Its that "if your not first your last" mentality. Why would anybody else race??? Honestly? |

Remember ben bostrom won an AMA superbike title and I dont think he won a single race.

I don't like Replicas for the fact they are too busy. I'll take an all white Duc any day of the week.
And for all u Nicky Haters...I've seen him ride at Laguna..the boy is fast and talented, but to think a GP championship is nothing, ur full of sheeeeeeit. This year he just can't the Duc setup correctly from everything I've read and heard. |

There aren't many people who've beaten Mat Mladin fair and square. Nick is one of the few. I hope we see him and Spies battling together next year.

RC-51 vs GSXR750... yep fair and square. Mlladin didn't win a single race that year, the AMA wouldn't allow the new GSXR1000 on the track until 2003, and the Honda won almost every race. As soon as the rules put everyone on like cc machines, Honda has hardly won a single race. Hmmm...:idk: |
I like plain looking bikes more than over the top designs. But for what it is I like it.
