I'm going to go out on a limb and say that GM's sedan lineup are pretty decent when it comes to real world fuel economy. Mid level V6 in a lot of their sedans perform decent enough round town and return decent numbers.
On the highway the imports might squeeze out an extra MPG or two, but real world mixed driving, GM does very well.
A V6 Malibu does better real world mixed than a 4banger Camry.
