I'm still waiting on my unemployment. I got all the paperwork in and even the handy dandy credit card they put it on. But they tell me it's so backed up (typical La) that it can take up to 8 weeks to get the first check....four weeks to get a notice in the mail confirming I'm approved. I applied a couple of weeks ago. Blah.
On a more positive note, my ex employer kept her word. I received a check for two weeks pay as a severance check. I knew I was owed for my vacation pay of one week. Bonus for the second week. Every little bit helps. |
holy shit, 8 weeks. that's crazy. I was told that I would know by the end of the week if it goes through. they didn't point out that it would take any longer to get the benefits though. did they send you anything about getting and extra $25 (taxable of course) over what your unemployment was supposed to be?
they are doing it electronically, how the hell can it take any longer? that don't make any sense.
I may have to start deciding if I'm going to pay the biggest bill I have soon.
