According to Suomy's rep - the Spec 1R and Vandal have the same shell.
I choose to wear the Vandal because the shield is changed easier [dzus style quarter turn releases] and better venting. By far, the BEST helmet I have ever worn in the rain - the visor will NOT fog.
I have both the Pin-up and Italia Mat in the Vandal and the Hodgson Laguna in the Spec 1R.
