I do that all the time with Erik... if he can hit a corner at a certain way, then surely I can get through it will little issue at my speed or a little more (baby steps). It's kind of mind over matter thought process.
I also agree that suspension settings play a huge part, something that would make my bike MUCH easier to handle if I'd change them to fit me.

I do that in my head all the time then bitch out as I notice my speed has gently decreased
