I run 93 in my bike and the wife's car, 87 in the truck.

The octane rating on the pump tells you all you need to know, I'm not sure where you get "it's all the same".
Octane ratings can vary by town and by elevation. In Breckenridge, CO the ratings will make you do a double-take.
