To my mind, the advantage of prolonging the bulb/ballast is more about reducing the possibility of being caught on a trip w/ a dead headlight (though I plan to retain the stock plug & stash a halogen bulb as backup) + the hassle of removing/returning/reinstalling.
Oh - and I gave in & ordered sets for both the GSXR & VFR after seeing that smokin' deal you posted & reading various positive reviews on them. I'll post install pics when ever I throw them in over the winter.
