A couple of years ago I had a buddy with an insurance auction connection watching for a GSXR for me. Back then, all the auction prices went up to the point another grand or two would get a perfectly good clean used bike - we didn't see anything that made financial/risk-management sense to screw with. Now if you found something stupid-cheap from an individual like OTB mentioned, maybe... but there are many smoking deals around on non-salvaged stuff now too. (like the GSXR-750 I practically stole from a guy last spring 'cus he thought it was worn-out
