Ok, first off, scratch voltage from my first post, I meant to say amps.
"maintenance free" sounds like a 1 or 2 amp trickle charge to me. Do you know what the amp output is in the manual or semi-auto modes?
If you're charging a fully dead battery at 1-2 amps, It's going to take forever, and you may not get a very deep charge. Not the best way to do it.
