Green Hornet looks like it'll be pretty good. They're playing off a how largely unknown (in North America, at least) Bruce Lee became the
REAL hero in the original series, completely out-shining Van Williams, who played The Hornet. It pretty much got his international career rolling. Halfway through the series the producers had to start giving Bruce more face time, because the audience demanded it.
Green Lantern just isn't the sort of comic book, that can make the transition to movies. It's going to come off as just plain silly. For that reason it's good that they chose someone like Reynolds, who will pretty much play a motor-mouthed idiot anyway, but it's going to tank badly.
They really need to move on from the classic comics and stick to graphic novels, if they want to pull in audiences. For example "The Warrior's Way" is shot in the style used in "200" and "Sin City", and looks like it'll be pretty good.
