Last bike I rode that was held back on top by wind was a SV-650... Not that fun of a bike I thought but then again we didn't hit many curves.

Buells live between 3500 and 6000 (unless it's an 1125). She'll try to rip your arms out of socket in this range.
Beyond that, you are just flogging her for that little bit of HP at the top.
Then......the fun stops at 6700 RPM. Damn long stroke engine.
