2009 SVS With & Without ABS

Just checking out the new models again, I noticed more than just the braking system change. The SV with ABS is a little over an inch longer and the chain has 6 more links. I'm just curious as to why these changes for ABS? Notice that ABS SV is only 7lbs more. I also noticed there's no 2009 SV naked either.
