I'm telling you... the most comfortable SS I've sat on in awhile... is the 07/08 ZX-6R. Ask Sixxxer.... I've got an insider on a brand new 07 for a rediculously low price....
I like it... great bike... but it's time for something new. I want a FI bike... the carbs weren't an issue most of the time... but under 25mph you have to work the clutch to avoid surges.

I just want something diffrent. the ZZR is still more than enough bike for me... which is why I'm leaning towards staying in the 600 class.

Yea, thats what i'm worried about the YZF600R, is the carbs. Being Ohio and all. Cold mornings will be a drag... Plus I'll need someone to teach me how to work on them, cause I heard they can be finickey when they get old...

My buddies got an 05 R6 for sale... got FI... lol

my carbs were fine... even on cold Alaska spring mornings... never had an issue. you should be alright... yeah have someone show you how to clean AND SYNC the carbs... it'll save you time and money in the future if you go with a Carb'd bike. I never had problems with starting like I said... mine was with the fuel'n at low rpm's, the jet kit just made it worse...

You think carbs are tough to work on...wait for the headache you'll have if something goes wrong with the FI.

A well tuned carburated bike will run just as good as fuel injection.

That being said....I'm not ever going back to carbs.
