After doing lots of research I finally bought one. I got a Magellan Maestro 4350. MSRP is $499, I picked one up on Black Friday for $199 with a free mount and a free carrying case.

Thanks to the help of everyone on this forum, I purchased my mother a Garmin Nuvi 650 that she'll be getting for Christmas. Luckily, it's on sale at yugster.com today for a fucking great price, so I got it for $150.

Didn't use it. Didn't have a place to mount it, didn't mount it... No means to charge it... So it sucked ass on the trip.
