couple of months ago after i started with phillycarshare. i thought that old ass 450 would hold me over as a work/winter bike but its really not my style. i thinkaround january im gonna dump it on someone and go hunting for another vintage 600

ahem. when i went down i had on a mixture of icon stuff and joe rocket and only the joe rocket stuff got fucked up. shits cut better for people who arent 5'1 and 90 lbs too

I did a 200+ ft slide in a MotoGP mesh jacket. It held up well and still wearable....just has a couple of new A/C holes in it.

I bought an Icon Mainframe helmet, TiMax gloves, and whatever the hell they call their boots, and I have none of it. The stitching on the gloves was complete fucking crap. After about 2 weeks or riding they started coming apart around the thumb and forefinger. I got them swapped out and the second pair did the same, plus the velcro on the gauntlet was pulling up. The helmet was cheaply made. While the rubberized paint look cool as hell when new, it chipped away easily. The liner was rough and always left my face feeling like I had been using fine grit sandpaper on it. The boots were ok, but even they were practically falling apart after about a year of moderate use. All of it ended up in the garbage with about a year of use.

On the other hand, my Teknic Chicane jacket and gloves are still useable, while my Shoei RF800 is still in one piece, but retired due to age. They were all bought in 1999 when I first started riding, and I'd trust all of it, dated lid included, over the crap that I got buying Icon.

I think I have that jacket too. It's a circa 2001 perfed.
It's protected me from the road at least once, but you wouldn't know it by looking at it. I still wear it in the 'tween seasons. (55*-80*)
