yeah, bad gas, or contaminated fuel is a possiblity. its not uncommon either, as I've heard and seen it happen once in awhile. just run some fuel system cleaner in the bike on your next fillup and if it keeps acting up, then take it for service.
on the subject of gas, I"ve had a LOT of it last night, I'm surprised I didnt kill one of my customers. |

You might have got some from the bottom of the tank at the gas station. Also this time of year some states require the use of more additives. The additives don't work as well.
Plus most gas now has upto 10% ethanol and ethanol mixes with water so it soaks it up like a spong from the air. Most bikes these days have a easy to adjust idle knob on the side of the bike some where you should check into that. I adjust my idle almost everytime I ride as the weather changes during the day. I also turn it up pretty high during trackdays to reduce wheel hop. (2500-3000) |

I got some in my blast when I was trying to sell it in May. Fuckin sucked cuz I lost a sale on it, but sold it 3 weeks later for 200 more and to a better person (father and son who wanted to learn together). Maybe it was a good thing afterall.

it's not the source of your problem, but stop filling up w/ premium. Just cuz it's more expensive doesn't mean it's better for the bike, it just means it has more additives in it to raise the octane level, which is only needed for high compression engines prone to detonation.
Check your owners manual for the recommended octane & use that (or whatever's available w/o going below the recommended). Anything "better" is nothing but a waste of money. Also, GENERALLY the "cheaper" fuels get changed out more often because more people use them, which means there's less of a chance for condensation to build up in the bottom of the holding tank.
