Where are you going to get 705hp cheaper? I'm talking from a builder, not a DIY hack job.

It's 562hp

And $6,000 labor is too much, considering they're all bolt-on mods

I'm interested to see what happens with the value of these cars in the future. Yenko did this with some early Camaros and while I don't know about now, they commanded a hefty premium over factory Camaros of the same vintage not long ago.

Wasn't Yenko associated w/ Chevy in some semi-official capacity? At any rate, Yenko had a much better rep than Hennessey. An OEM Camaro will be a much less worse "investment" than a Hennessey Camaro - I can assure you of that.

are you sure, i mean that was 30-35yrs ago.....who knows if Yenko wasn't pulling similar shinanigans back then. you'd think if hennessy was such a crook he wouldn't be doing as well as he is.

he's also developed a high hp GT-R also

Other than being a Chevy dealer I don't believe so. Are you possibly thinking of Copo Camaros? Copos were ordered and built from the Chevy factory and they were offered more as a response to what Yenko was doing.

It appears that Hennessey has a similar type of deal.

The original car is being offered as a special edition by selcet dealers.

Quote:
Hennessey offered the first HPE700 Camaros exclusively to registered bidders at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. However, the car will eventually be available to the general public or ordered from select Chevrolet dealers as well as directly from Hennessey. Pricing will start at $109,500. Twenty-four of the cars will be built, but 11 are already spoken for, so if you want your own piece of completely unreasonable muscle-car Americana, you'd better hurry.
The lesser HP car seems like a kit you'd buy from or send the car to them.

I agree, Hennessey is a crook. I don't know why Chevy would want to do business with him.

But if the car can be bought through, seen at and delivered to your local dealer, your chances of getting the product promised seem better than the guys shipping their cars to his shop.
