I still have never understood "promise rings" When you are too young to be engaged or married they made sense (ie high school). What is the promise? To eventually get married? isnt' that what an engagement ring is? Are promise rings easier to get back when you break up then engagement rings? Do you throw the promise ring away when you upgrade to an engagement ring? I just have never understood them for adults.
