Default TWFix.com 2KX Rally

**** Pls forgive the duplicates... but its a copy/paste for other sites****

Every year we do a rally off the website. This is about the 2010.

So my buddy Ebbs from Mississippi decided to join me on the voyage south. He is going via the North Dokota and the "UP" (upper penn of Michigan). Yes this is his DRZ400 dual sport (street legal dirt bike if you ask me) and YES he is certifiable insane, certificate given via US Air Force.

Well he is a oil change-o-holic and I wanted to wait out a bad red cell of storms passing thru...

My steed is ready

And this is what's left from the storm... so we set off

We ventured down to just into Kentucky and met up with Capt Avery on his vstrom.

He had Chewy the site ambassador on point and ready to be handed off to another site member

I took the highway time to grab a couple quick pics of the boys of my motley crew.

Ebbs getting comfortable

We end up rolling into Knoxville area about 10pm. We met up with the Trip (BMW GS & owner of the website) and Derf from New Jersey (yellow Honda CBR). Tommy from NY on his Aprilla showed up early the next morning. The crazyness started as soon as we all got up.

The mess of eclectic bunch of bikes. We are 6 strong now.

We adoned the tourpack of my Ultra with some south park funny.

Derf's cycle showed up... and yes it got um... taped. But it happened in jersey. He just left it. When you have friends like this you don't need enemies.

Sure looks like Ebbs should be the poster boy

Then stopped at one of the Smokey Mountain HD dealerships

The place is big!

Derf's diggin the EK suit

We continue on to our destination. The Lodge at Copperhead Cycle Resort

It also has cabins throughtout that you can rent, which most of us did.

We roll in

This is how I wanted to end up...

But things are never that simple...

Well I guess listening to Ebbs and Trip got the best of me. My half ton beast didn't like the wet slippery Georgia clay...

Barried clear up to its mufflers and self standing...Might as well rock it out... cause it happened and will now forever live.

And yes to this day... my tires are still stained from that mud!

We all meet back up at the Lodge for some dinner

Next day go for breakfast

Then we had 2 groups. One group that I didn't go on hit the GAP and some of the skyway.

we hit "Blood Mountain" for some picture runs and fun.

Hangin out road side to take the pics

Trips

I think Derf has a thing about tea baggin...cough I mean sittin on other dudes seats... LOL

Me and derf... um... cuddle? Talk about an ugly couple

Ebbs

Get back to the Lodge before more rain gets up (that never came)

Tigger and Trip

Bonesaw is ready for... um... who knows.. but it involves drinking

Let the drinking and mayham begin...

Ebbs

Me

Bonesaw holds his composure

Well there was lots of craze... when the Capt Morgan 100 proof busted out, it was said "This will not end good!"

Yeah that ended up being me.

Fast forward to the next morning...

One of The Lodge owners pouring me some pepto... fittingly in a shot glass no less

We gather up for our big ride day thru 4 states (GA, SC, NC, TN). I'm still feeling it... grrrr

TNX Derf

But the show must go on... So we hit the road.

All is going well till Jason (a new rider with only 1000 miles under his belt) bit it in a corner. All was ok but his front peg which snapped off his Kaw. I was able to fit the rear passenger peg in its place with a washer from the muffler mount.

Missing peg and washer

The repair

After which we stopped at this amazing restaurant in a "hot spot" gas station in Franklin, NC.
