Yea well, when it's your bike you can do whatever you want to it... my point is that saying that the bike is "hideous" is a bit much imho. I think it's a decent looking bike, that has a ton of potential. Oh and the after market isn't that bad at all. You have to remember that we're not the only country in the world and the SV1000 was a decent seller for Suzuki elsewhere. OTB bought an SV1k for $1000, after he fixes it, he'll have less than $2k into it. Tail, fairing and exhaust for under $1000... Ta, Da! Heck, I've seen GSXR forks for $100 and shocks for $30... He could have one heck of a bike for $3-4,000.

I'd buy a naked one if I get an SV most likely. Here's a pic of a friend's I used to ride back in the day. After we put those dirtbike handlebars on there, I really liked the style and feel of it.
Edit: Btw, he used to run a 180 rear tire as pictured there. I rode it like that and it seemed to handle fine. He had no issues keeping right with me in the twisties as well. Last edited by Akilldema; 09-06-2010 at 06:51 PM.. |

As a TLR owner, I say the SV is hands down a better looking machine.
