LOL - for some reason, I just read your post in Arnold Schwarzenaeger's (sp?) voice, as if he were saying "Who is your daddy, and what does he do?"

Store-bought never seems to last - will buy it no sonner than within a couple of days of intending to use it. During the warmer months, we usually buy a couple of basil plants and just pull the leaves off the plant when needed. Not only fresh but cheaper than the store.

We pot them in small pots and just keep them on the front porch. They get enough sun but not too much, except in late Summer / early Fall, when the sun is in the Southern sky.
