I believe it's just a basic safety inspection for motorcycles in NC.

Yep- gotta get mine done too. Last year it cost me $12 at the Ford Dealership at home. They closed, so I have to find somewhere else that doesn't charge $25+ like the dealer in the next town.

Illinois doesnt test bikes at all. vehicles 1996 and newer have to pass smog test in Chicago and where I live next to STL....
